Billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong’s Green SM Boasts Billion-Dollar Valuation

Green SM, the brainchild of Pham Nhat Vuong, has successfully increased its capital to a staggering 35.5 trillion VND. This significant boost in funding will fuel the company's ambitious expansion plans, both domestically and internationally, solidifying its position as a major player in the market.

According to the National Business Registration Portal, Green Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company (GSM Green) successfully increased its charter capital from VND 25 trillion to VND 35.5 trillion on January 8th. The entire capital contribution is in Vietnamese Dong.

The post-issuance shareholder structure has not been disclosed in detail.

Founded in March 2023 by billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong, Chairman of Vingroup, GSM Green initially had a charter capital of VND 3 trillion. In the original capital structure, the Vingroup Chairman held 95% through the transfer of over 50.7 million VIC shares from his personal assets. Pham Thu Huong owned 3%, while Vietnam Investment Group held the remaining 2%.

GSM Green Taxi dominates the market just 3 years after establishment

GSM Green now leads the ride-hailing market with a significant share, surpassing competitors within just 3 years of operation, while others have been in the industry for over a decade. The company’s advantage lies in its use of electric vehicles, which are environmentally friendly and well-received by passengers.

GSM Green’s market share is expected to grow further with the rapid deployment of the 7-seater Limo Green electric taxi. This model’s spacious design and affordable price of VND 700 million have attracted many buyers for ride-hailing services.

Additionally, GSM Green launched the Green SM Van urban cargo transport service using the compact VinFast EC Van. Initially rolled out in Hanoi, the service charges VND 110,000 for the first 2 km, with subsequent kilometers priced between VND 8,000 and VND 11,000, depending on the distance.

At the Tech Awards 2025 held on January 8th, GSM Green outperformed numerous tech brands and ride-hailing apps to win two prestigious categories: “Vietnamese Tech Brand of the Year” and “Outstanding Ride-Hailing App.”

In the “Vietnamese Tech Brand of the Year” category, GSM Green was highly praised by the expert panel and user community for its smart mobility ecosystem, focusing on sustainable development and an all-electric operational model.

For the “Outstanding Ride-Hailing App” award, the company excelled due to its stable technology platform, user-friendly design, transparency, and adaptability in rapidly expanding across multiple markets.
