Soaring Over the Construction Site of the VND 16 Trillion Tran Hung Dao Bridge Spanning the Red River.

On October 9, 2025, the Hanoi People’s Committee held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Tran Hung Dao Bridge project, one of eight key projects launched to commemorate the 71st anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954).

Three months post-groundbreaking, contractors are intensifying efforts on the Tran Hung Dao Bridge, focusing particularly on the mid-river pillars.

The Tran Hung Dao Bridge spans 4.18 km, starting at the intersection of Tran Hung Dao and Tran Thanh Tong streets in Hoan Kiem District, and ending at Nguyen Son Street in Long Bien District.

Contractors are actively deploying manpower and machinery to prepare for critical components such as beams and pile driving for the mid-river pillars.

Machinery and materials are continuously transported to staging areas around the site to accelerate progress.

The bridge is slated for completion in 2027, not only alleviating traffic in the central urban area but also serving as an iconic landmark with its unique architecture and lighting design.

The project includes the construction of three interchanges: a multi-level interchange with Tran Khanh Du and Nguyen Khoai streets, an interchange with the left bank of the Red River (Long Bien – Xuan Quan road), and a flat interchange with Nguyen Son Street.

With a total investment of nearly VND 16 trillion, the bridge is expected to be completed in 2027 after two years of construction. Upon completion, it will significantly reduce traffic congestion in the city center and connect a vast area east of the capital.
