According to reports, this morning (January 14th), the barriers along Hanoi’s Ring Road 1 from Hoang Cau – Yen Lang intersection to Voi Phuc were removed, revealing a one-way project road wider than two lanes. Residents can now travel by car or motorbike along the 2.2 km stretch from Hoang Cau to Voi Phuc.

The Hanoi Civil Construction Project Management Board (the investor) stated that the technical clearance allows the project to transition to the final stage of road completion as per the planning.

The Hoang Cau – Voi Phuc section of Ring Road 1 opened for technical traffic from January 14th.

The investor noted that the road spans approximately 2,274 meters with a cross-section of 50 meters. It starts at the Hoang Cau – Yen Lang intersection and ends at the Voi Phuc intersection. The project includes two overpasses: one at Lang Ha intersection, 18 meters wide with four lanes for two-way traffic, totaling 250.7 meters in length.

The second overpass, at Nguyen Chi Thanh intersection, is also 18 meters wide with four lanes for two-way traffic, totaling 220.7 meters in length.

The Hoang Cau – Voi Phuc section of Ring Road 1 has been under development by Hanoi for over a decade, with a total investment of more than 7 trillion VND. However, the project faced repeated delays due to land acquisition issues, as approximately 300 households within the project area had not agreed to hand over their properties.

Since December 2025, under the direct supervision of the Secretary of the City Party Committee and city leaders, the project has made significant progress. Land clearance and technical road construction were completed in just over a month.
