On January 15th, the Quang Tri Provincial Police announced the successful dismantling of an online counterfeit goods trafficking ring, in collaboration with the Hanoi City Police and Ninh Binh Provincial Police. The operation led to the arrest of three suspects and the seizure of a large quantity of counterfeit cosmetics with no clear origin.
Prior to this, on January 13th, a task force comprising 100 officers from various units, led by the High-Tech Crime Prevention and Control Department of the Quang Tri Provincial Police, coordinated with the Investigative Security Department, Mobile Police Department, Hanoi City Police, and Ninh Binh Provincial Police to apprehend and interrogate the suspects: Nguyen Van Chung (born in 1993, residing in Hoa Lu ward, Ninh Binh province), Pham Thi Tuyet (born in 1995), and Le Huu Minh (born in 1993), both residing in Vinh Hung ward, Hanoi.

Senior Colonel Le Van Hoa, Deputy Director and Head of the Security Investigation Agency of Quang Tri Provincial Police, leading the on-site inspection.

A massive 25 tons of counterfeit and untraceable cosmetics were discovered and confiscated.
Initial investigations revealed that Pham Thi Tuyet, through personal connections, sourced counterfeit cosmetics manufactured in China from a foreign national residing near the Mong Cai border gate. Tuyet then advertised these fake products on Facebook at low prices, attracting buyers nationwide. Nguyen Van Chung, after purchasing these counterfeit cosmetics from Tuyet, created multiple Shopee accounts to resell them on the platform.
The Security Investigation Agency of Quang Tri Provincial Police executed emergency search warrants at the residences of Nguyen Van Chung, Pham Thi Tuyet, Le Huu Minh, and their warehouses in Hanoi and Ninh Binh, seizing over 25 tons of cosmetics with unclear origins.
Based on the collected evidence, the Security Investigation Agency summoned Nguyen Van Chung, Le Huu Minh, and other related individuals for further investigation and case expansion.
