The upcoming 7km stretch (from km 69+140 to km 76+230) is set to open with a total investment of 152 billion VND. It’s part of the Dung Quất – Sa Huỳnh Coastal Road Project Phase IIB, which has a total investment of nearly 900 billion VND.

Phase IIB includes three sections: the soon-to-open segment and two others at km 27+690 – km 29+500 and km 31+870 – km 33+450.

Approved in 2022 by the Chairman of Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee, the project runs from 2022 to 2025. It connects coastal road segments along the North-South axis.

The road features a 12m wide asphalt surface, designed to Level III standards for flat terrain, with a speed limit of 80 km/h.

The route includes the Bầu Ốc Bridge, 71m long and 12m wide, constructed with permanent reinforced concrete.

The road features multiple at-grade intersections with car roads and local paths, 29 cross-drains, trapezoidal longitudinal drains, and complete safety signage, guardrails, and markers.

This entirely new road runs parallel to National Highway 1 on the east, connecting Lân Phong and Mỏ Cày communes.

Once operational, the road will reduce travel time and ease traffic on National Highway 1A. It will also enhance Quảng Ngãi’s coastal infrastructure, boosting economic and social development, high-tech agriculture, coastal tourism, services, and efficient land use in the southeastern region.

According to reports, the Dung Quất – Sa Huỳnh Coastal Road is nearly complete.

On white sand, amid green casuarina forests, the asphalt road stretches as final touches are being completed for inspection and operation.

According to Trần Hoàng Vĩnh, Director of Quảng Ngãi’s Transport Project Management Board, efforts are ongoing to resolve land issues and connect coastal segments. Extensions southward are planned to enhance infrastructure, serve locals, and drive socioeconomic growth.
