The road project connecting Thai Binh Ward to Hung Ha and Pho Hien Ward (Hung Yen) is divided into two packages: Package 1 involves constructing a bridge over the Tra Ly River, while Package 2 focuses on road construction.
Currently, the project is prioritizing land clearance to enable widespread road construction. Specifically, contractors are accelerating the construction of the Tra Ly River bridge.
In the riverbed, construction units are deploying floating barges and cranes to build the two main bridge pillars spanning the river.
Floating barges encroach on the river surface, allowing construction units to mobilize machinery and cranes for bridge pillar construction.
Package 1, which includes the construction of the Tra Ly River bridge and its approach roads, is one of the project’s most critical components.
Alongside bridge construction, contractors have begun work on the approach roads at both ends of the bridge.
Over the past few days, engineers and workers have waded through mud to access the construction site, conducting geological surveys for road foundation preparation.
As the project traverses paddy fields and ponds, the construction team has excavated mud and replaced it with load-bearing soil to ensure a robust road foundation.
The approach roads and the Tra Ly River bridge are being constructed simultaneously, with both components taking shape.
According to the Project Management Unit for Construction Investment No. 2 of Hung Yen Province (the investor), land clearance for the road connecting Thai Binh to Pho Hien has been substantially completed by local authorities. The project has selected contractors to commence comprehensive construction from Q1/2026. Specifically, Package 2, which includes the Tra Ly River bridge and its approach roads, is being expedited to accelerate progress and mitigate the impact of rainy seasons.
The road project connecting Thai Binh Ward to Hung Ha and Pho Hien Ward was launched by Hung Yen Province on October 31, 2025. This marks the first direct connection between the two largest urban areas in Hung Yen following their expansion.
With a total investment of VND 4,927 billion, the project is designated as a key provincial initiative. The road spans over 24 km with a cross-section width exceeding 60 meters, designed and constructed to expressway standards. Construction is scheduled from 2025 to 2028.
