The groundbreaking ceremony, chaired by the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and co-hosted by Masterise Group—the investor behind two major projects—highlights the private sector’s growing role in developing critical infrastructure. This partnership underscores a commitment to fostering sustainable economic growth for both the city and the nation.

This event, part of the celebrations leading up to the 14th National Congress, reflects the strong political resolve of the Party, local government, and citizens of Ho Chi Minh City to modernize and integrate the city’s transportation network. It aligns with the adjusted Master Plan for Ho Chi Minh City by 2040, vision to 2060, approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1125/QĐ-TTg on June 11, 2025. The goal is to position the city as Asia’s leading economic, financial, and service hub, driving growth in the Southern region and beyond.

The Phu My 2 and Can Gio Bridge projects, approved by the City Council under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model with a Build-Transfer (BT) contract, are led by Masterise Group in collaboration with reputable contractors. Scheduled from 2025 to 2029, with construction from 2026 to 2029, these projects prioritize timely completion, quality, safety, and long-term efficiency.

Masterise Group’s involvement in these large-scale infrastructure projects through the PPP-BT model not only mobilizes social resources but also demonstrates its commitment to national development. As a leading urban real estate developer, Masterise Group is now establishing itself as a trusted name in infrastructure and transportation, with a focus on compliance, long-term planning, and public welfare. Notably, the group was recently selected by the Government and Ministry of Public Security to develop the Gia Binh International Airport, a project valued at nearly 200 trillion VND.

The Phu My 2 and Can Gio Bridges are pivotal in enhancing regional connectivity, expanding urban development, and alleviating congestion on existing routes. They will strengthen links between the city center and southern, eastern, and key economic zones, supporting a multi-centered development model and regional integration, with infrastructure as a catalyst for Ho Chi Minh City’s growth.

Spanning 6.3 km with 8 lanes, the Phu My 2 Bridge, costing approximately 23.186 trillion VND, connects Nguyen Huu Tho Street in southern Ho Chi Minh City to Dai Phuoc Commune in Dong Nai Province, linking directly to Long Thanh International Airport. This project will reduce pressure on the existing Phu My Bridge, National Highway 1, National Highway 51, and the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway, while fostering sustainable urban and industrial growth in eastern Ho Chi Minh City and Bien Hoa – Dong Nai.

The Can Gio Bridge, 6.3 km long with 6 lanes and an investment of over 13.2 trillion VND, includes a 3 km main span across the Soai Rap River, connecting Nha Be and Can Gio districts. This strategic project replaces the Binh Khanh ferry, enhances southeastern maritime development, and completes the city’s southern transportation network. It promotes eco-tourism, coastal urban development, and marine economics while preserving the Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

At the ceremony, a representative from the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee emphasized that these bridges are not only transportation projects but also new architectural landmarks, offering residents and visitors stunning city views. The PPP-BT model, with Masterise Group as a key investor, showcases the private sector’s proactive role in national infrastructure development, vital for the city’s economic leadership.

“As a leader in the new generation of private enterprises, Masterise Group is proud to partner with the Government and Ho Chi Minh City in realizing these national initiatives. We are committed to delivering the Phu My 2 and Can Gio Bridges on schedule and to the highest standards, contributing to sustainable urban development and community well-being,” stated a Masterise Group representative.

The commencement of these projects marks a significant step toward Ho Chi Minh City’s vision of becoming a future global metropolis, driving economic and social progress, improving residents’ quality of life, and enhancing the city’s regional and international standing.

This public-private collaboration, exemplified by Masterise Group’s involvement, highlights the effectiveness of the PPP model in leveraging private sector expertise and resources to create nationally significant infrastructure, essential for Vietnam’s economic future.
