On January 15th, the Inter-sectoral Food Safety Inspection Team No. 1 of Hanoi conducted a surprise inspection to ensure food safety for the 2026 Lunar New Year and Spring Festival season at MM Mega Market Thanh Xuan (B1 basement, mixed-use project for residential services, offices, and schools, 360 Giai Phong Road, Phuong Liet Ward).
During the inspection, the team discovered labeling violations for fresh food products. Specifically, at the sales shelves, the inspection team noted that labels for 24 trays of chicken thighs, 16 trays of salmon, 6 trays of snail eggs, 19 trays of fresh frog legs, and frog bodies only displayed the weighing date (packaging date at the supermarket) without indicating the production date.
In the cold storage, the team found 4 trays of chicken wings without labels. In the freezer, several trays of chicken were found without labels, production dates, or expiration dates.
When the inspection team randomly checked the origin of some products, the supermarket representative could not provide complete documentation to prove the origin at the time of inspection.
The representative of Inter-sectoral Inspection Team No. 1 issued a record, requiring the facility to immediately rectify the issues, particularly the product labeling process.

For the non-compliant food products discovered during the inspection, the team required the facility to preserve them in their original state, sealed, pending handling instructions from the Food Safety Steering Committee of Phuong Liet Ward.
Phuong Liet Ward is responsible for further discussions with the supermarket representative to clarify issues regarding origin documentation and to impose administrative penalties as prescribed.
