AEONMALL Vietnam Co., Ltd., renowned for its Japanese-branded AEON Mall chain, has recently announced an increase in its chartered capital to 23,755.7 billion VND.
This new capital represents a 13% increase from the previous 20,987.8 billion VND, amounting to an additional 2,770 billion VND. The capital is authorized to three individuals, each holding 33%, including CEO Nakagawa Tetsuyuki.
AEON is one of the world’s largest retail conglomerates, with 179 joint ventures in Japan and internationally. AEON officially began operations in Vietnam in 2009 as a Representative Office (01/12/2009 – 10/07/2012).
Currently, AEON operates 7 shopping malls across Vietnam’s three regions, with the first location being AEON Mall Tan Phu Celadon and the latest addition being AEON Mall Hue. AEON plans to expand its network to 11 malls, including the upcoming AEON Mall Tran Bien in Dong Nai.
In September 2024, Mr. Furusawa Yasuyuki, then CEO of AEON Vietnam, stated that AEON has invested 1.5 billion USD in Vietnam, considering it the second most important market after Japan.
In the 2024 fiscal year report (1/3/2024–28/2/2025), AEON Mall reported a 13.5% year-on-year increase in operating revenue in Vietnam, reaching 17.3 billion yen, equivalent to 2,987 billion VND.
