To achieve the economic growth targets for 2026, the People’s Committee of Can Tho City has developed two growth scenarios: exceeding 10% and striving for 11.5%.

In 2026, Can Tho aims for a growth rate of 11.5%.

It is projected that in 2026, Can Tho’s total social investment capital will account for a minimum of 32.6% of GRDP, equivalent to 117,000-120,000 billion VND.

Of this, the public investment capital allocated to the city this year is approximately 19,300 billion VND, with efforts to reach 100% by year-end. There are 113 non-budget investment projects in the area this year, with a total investment capital of over 92,900 billion VND. These include 53 housing projects with a total investment of 43,983 billion VND and 60 projects in other sectors with a total investment of 48,973 billion VND, expected to achieve a value of around 30,000 billion VND this year.

In 2026, Can Tho aims to complete the divestment of state capital from Hau Giang High-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company, Can Tho Urban Development Joint Stock Company, and Soc Trang Urban Works Joint Stock Company.

Notably, this year Can Tho plans to

merge three lottery companies (including Can Tho Lottery One Member LLC, Hau Giang Lottery, and Soc Trang Lottery).

With this plan, by

the end of 2026, Can Tho will have 16 state-owned enterprises in operation, including 4 enterprises with 100% state capital, 7 enterprises with over 50% state capital, and 5 enterprises with less than 50% state capital. The total revenue of these enterprises for the year is expected to exceed 20,655 billion VND, contributing over 6,988 billion VND to the budget, with a total profit of more than 1,660 billion VND.

In 2026, Can Tho aims to

increase budget revenue by approximately 15% compared to 2025, reaching 29,839 billion VND.
