As the year-end approaches, the topic of Tet bonuses has become a focal point for employees, and at Hoang Anh Gia Lai Joint Stock Company (HAGL), 160 individuals have received substantial rewards, while over 300 others have been awarded hundreds of millions of Vietnamese dong.
Ms. Kieu Ngoc Hoa, an employee at HAGL, is among the 160 recipients of a significant reward—an apartment valued between 2 to 8 billion VND at the Phu Dong High-Rise Residential and Commercial Complex (located on Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, Pleiku Ward, Gia Lai Province). This reward was announced by HAGL’s Chairman, Doan Nguyen Duc (known as Bau Duc).
The complex is expected to be completed by 2027.

Having worked at HAGL since graduating, Ms. Hoa has been with the company for 18 years. She expressed her surprise and deep emotion upon learning that her dedication and perseverance had been recognized with such a generous reward.
She recalled that a decade ago, during a challenging period when HAGL faced financial difficulties and owed employees six months’ worth of wages, her entire department resigned, leaving her as the sole remaining staff member. She stayed and supported the company through its struggles to its current success.
Receiving this substantial reward, she realizes that the company has truly rebounded, with robust finances allowing it to show gratitude to its employees.
Mr. Nguyen Phuc Tung, who works for HAGL in Laos, feels as though he has “won the lottery” by being gifted an apartment in a prime location in Pleiku, Gia Lai. “It’s like a dream come true!” he exclaimed.
Reflecting on the period when the company struggled to pay wages, Mr. Tung shared that he always believed in the company’s recovery and continued to work diligently. He also mentioned that due to his long tenure at HAGL and his savings, his family remained financially comfortable even during the unpaid months.

Mr. Bui Duc Dung (born in 1987), who joined HAGL Cambodia during a challenging period, demonstrated his youthful energy by tackling difficult tasks without hesitation.
Despite working at HAGL for less than 12 years, Mr. Dung is among those receiving the most significant rewards from Bau Duc—a shophouse valued at approximately 6 billion VND.
“This is not only the largest asset I’ve ever owned but also the largest for my parents. No one in my family has ever possessed such a valuable asset before,” Mr. Dung shared, still overwhelmed with joy.
According to Bau Duc, this massive reward initiative is dedicated to 499 employees who have been contributing to HAGL’s social insurance for over 10 years, meaning they were with the company during the 2016 crisis.
Of these, 160 employees received apartments with a total value of 500 billion VND, each worth between 2 to 8 billion VND.
The remaining employees were awarded preferential shares totaling 300 billion VND, with a minimum of 10,000 shares per person (currently valued at approximately 18,000 VND per share).
Both rewards come with a 5-year transfer restriction to encourage continued dedication to the company.
