In early 2026, Component Project 3 of the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway Construction Investment Project (Phase 1), spanning the former Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, is entering its final completion phase.

The project begins at Km34+200, connecting with the endpoint of Component Project 2 (Dong Nai Province), and ends at Km53+700, intersecting with National Highway 56 and the former Ba Ria City bypass (Ho Chi Minh City).

With approximately 98% of construction completed, many critical components are now finished. The roadway features completed asphalt surfaces, road markings, central dividers, and guardrails.

Contractors are now focused on installing traffic safety systems, lighting, and finalizing key intersections such as Hoi Bai – Phuoc Tan and the National Highway 56 junction. All bridgework was completed in Q1-2026, meeting technical and schedule requirements.

The total route length is approximately 19.5 km, designed for a 4-lane expressway with 2 emergency lanes. The road width ranges from 24.75 m to 27 m. Land clearance is underway for a 6-lane expressway, averaging 67 m in width.

The total investment is 7,216 billion VND, with land clearance costing 4,021 billion VND. Funding includes 50% from the city budget for land clearance and the remainder from the central government.

According to the investor, additional land acquisition is ongoing for service roads in Tam Long Ward and supplementary land recovery at the My Xuan – Ngai Giao junction to ensure full route completion as designed.

Construction began in June 2023, with technical opening on April 19, 2025. To date, the project value exceeds 1,672 billion VND, representing nearly 98% completion.

Upon completion, Component Project 3 will significantly enhance the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway (Phase 1), improve regional connectivity, reduce pressure on National Highway 51, and drive socioeconomic development in the Southeast region.
