On January 30th, on behalf of the Politburo, General Secretary To Lam signed and issued Decision 05, assigning a member of the 14th Politburo to join the 14th Party Central Committee’s Secretariat.
Accordingly, Mr. Le Minh Tri, a member of the 14th Politburo, was assigned to join the 14th Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and appointed as Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission.

Mr. Le Minh Tri, 66, is from Ho Chi Minh City. He holds a university degree in Security and a Bachelor of Law. He served as a member of the 13th and 14th Party Central Committees; a member of the 12th, 13th, and 14th Party Central Committees; and a National Assembly deputy for the 14th and 15th terms.
Having worked in the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department, Mr. Le Minh Tri held positions such as Deputy Head of the Security Staff Department, Deputy Head of Department A12b, and Secretary to the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (now the Ministry of Public Security).
Later, he served as Secretary to the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee and Deputy Chief of the Office of the People’s Council and People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City for over three years.
From January 2003, Mr. Le Minh Tri served as Chairman of District 11 People’s Committee; in August 2005, he became Chairman of District 1 People’s Committee.
From January 2010 to April 2013, Mr. Le Minh Tri was Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee. For the next three years, he served as Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission.
In April 2016, Mr. Le Minh Tri was elected as Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy. At the 13th Party Central Committee’s Conference on August 16, 2024, the Party Central Committee decided to elect Mr. Le Minh Tri to the Secretariat.
Ten days later (August 26, 2024), at the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly, he was elected by the National Assembly as Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court.
In November 2025, Mr. Le Minh Tri was assigned and appointed as Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission.
In January 2026, at the 14th National Party Congress, Mr. Le Minh Tri was elected to the 14th Party Central Committee; at the first Conference, he was elected to the Politburo and assigned to join the Secretariat, holding the position of Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission.
