Following the success of phase 1, phase 2 of the campaign expands to all OCB branches and transaction offices nationwide. Additionally, the program extends to 30 locations, including schools, hospitals, residential buildings, and shopping centers, to enhance accessibility and encourage public participation.
After the success of phase 1, OCB Pin Hunter officially launches phase 2 with nearly 200 green collection points across the country.

Customers can bring used batteries such as AA, AAA, C, and D to designated collection points to participate. All collected batteries will be handed over to authorized specialized units for proper disposal, minimizing negative environmental and ecological impacts.
At the processing plant, batteries undergo sorting and pre-treatment before being incinerated in advanced systems at temperatures ranging from 650°C to 1,232°C. This process ensures the destruction of hazardous compounds. Notably, the resulting ash is repurposed as raw material for cement production, preventing environmental pollution.
Beyond environmental protection, the program offers participants the chance to receive gifts through the “Trade Old Batteries for Green Gifts” initiative. With a minimum of 20 used batteries, participants can choose from eco-friendly gifts like canvas bags, bamboo straws, recycled notebooks, premium digital accounts, or seed pencils. Each participant can receive up to two gifts during the campaign.

Reflecting on the program’s significance, OCB leadership shared: “Batteries contain harmful chemicals and, if not disposed of properly, can severely impact soil, water, and human health. Through Pin Hunter, we believe significant change begins with small daily actions. The campaign aims not only to collect used batteries but also to foster a green lifestyle within the community.”
OCB Pin Hunter is a key initiative within the bank’s sustainable development strategy, complementing efforts to promote green credit, support renewable energy projects, green buildings, high-tech agriculture, and social welfare activities. With the slogan “Old Batteries Turn Green – A Healthier Earth,” OCB hopes phase 2 of Pin Hunter will continue to inspire community engagement, raise environmental awareness, and drive lasting positive change for a greener future.

Key Achievements of OCB Pin Hunter – Phase 1: From March to June 2025, phase 1 of OCB Pin Hunter attracted nearly 10,000 participants nationwide, collecting approximately 5,000 kg of used batteries. These batteries were handed over to specialized units for safe disposal, reducing environmental harm. The campaign achieved over 11 million impressions, 5 million views, and 80,000 interactions across media platforms, while distributing more than 8,300 green gifts to encourage environmental action. |
