Groundbreaking Ceremony for Nationally Accredited School Funded by Corporate Sponsorship in Thuận Giao Ward

On January 28, 2026, the groundbreaking ceremony for Binh Chuan 3 Primary School was held in Thuan Giao Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. This project is implemented through a public-private partnership, fully funded and executed by Phat Dat Real Estate Development Corporation (HOSE: PDR), with a total investment value of approximately 145 billion VND. The aim is to construct a modern primary school that meets national standards, gradually aligning with international benchmarks.

According to the plan, Binh Chuan 3 Primary School will be constructed on a nearly 10,500 m² public land area, featuring a four-story main building with 40 classrooms, functional rooms, a multi-purpose hall, and a synchronized infrastructure and equipment system to support teaching and learning. The project is expected to be completed and handed over by the end of July 2026, in time for the new academic year.

The event received significant attention from the leadership of Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Vo Huynh Ngoc Thuy, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Thuan Giao Ward, stated that the investment in the new construction of Binh Chuan 3 Primary School addresses the urgent need for educational infrastructure in the area. According to the announced information, Thuan Giao Ward was established by merging the entire natural area and population of Thuan Giao Ward and three neighborhoods of Binh Chuan Ward (former Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province), with an area of 16,805 ha and a population of 164,050, of which temporary residents account for over 80%.

“With a large population and a high rate of mechanical population growth, the demands for social welfare, healthcare, and especially education in the ward are immense. The need for schools that meet standards in terms of area, number of classes, and facilities to ensure the best teaching and learning conditions for teachers and students is always a top priority for local leaders,” emphasized the representative of Thuan Giao Ward’s leadership.

Central Committee Member, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Quoc Phong, and Central Committee Member, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People’s Council Vo Van Minh presented flowers to the Department of Education, Thuan Giao Ward, and Phat Dat Corporation, along with other partnering units at the groundbreaking ceremony.

According to local statistics, there are currently 13 public schools in the ward, including 1 kindergarten, 8 primary schools, 3 lower secondary schools, and 1 high school. The existing Binh Chuan 3 Primary School was built in 1995 on a plot of approximately 2,800 m², with 14 classrooms, 28 classes, and 960 students, operating only one session per day. After years of use, the school’s facilities have deteriorated, and teaching equipment remains limited, no longer meeting the growing educational needs.

In this context, the new construction of Binh Chuan 3 Primary School on a larger scale, with modern and synchronized facilities, and aimed at meeting national standards, is considered particularly significant by local authorities. The leadership of Thuan Giao Ward stated that the project not only helps alleviate the current classroom overload but also lays a long-term foundation for improving the quality of primary education in the area.

From an industry management perspective, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, highly appreciated the project’s significance in the city’s school network development strategy. Mr. Hieu remarked: “Binh Chuan 3 Primary School is designed as a modern school model, meeting criteria for facilities, a friendly and safe learning environment, and gradually approaching national standards. Additionally, the school will be organized and operated with a focus on digital transformation in education, applying information technology in management, teaching, and connecting schools, families, and society, thereby enhancing the comprehensive quality of education for students. Once completed and operational, the project will help reduce student numbers, perfect the school network in the area, and create favorable conditions for teachers to teach and students to learn in a better environment, ultimately improving primary education quality in line with the city’s sustainable development goals.”

Representatives from the education sector also acknowledged and appreciated the participation of businesses in investing in education through full sponsorship. According to him, businesses sponsoring the construction of large-scale, high-standard schools not only shorten implementation time but also provide crucial resources for the city to focus its budget on other infrastructure areas.

Phat Dat also contributed funds to support social welfare activities in collaboration with Thuan Giao Ward.

On the sponsor’s side, Phat Dat stated that investing in the construction of Binh Chuan 3 Primary School is an effort to support the local government and the city in developing social infrastructure, particularly in education—a sector considered the foundation of sustainable development. The project is implemented under a “build and transfer” model, and upon completion, it will be handed over to the state for management and use for public purposes.

The groundbreaking of Binh Chuan 3 Primary School thus marks not only the beginning of a new educational project but also highlights the increasingly clear role of businesses in joining hands with authorities to address the community’s urgent needs. In the context of rapid population growth and increasing pressure on educational infrastructure, a primary school meeting national standards, invested with hundreds of billions of dong, is expected to have a positive, long-term impact on the development of Thuan Giao Ward in particular and Ho Chi Minh City in general.
