Ministry of Industry and Trade revokes petroleum trading license of the ‘giant’ Hai Ha
The General Department of Customs has issued a document requesting Customs Offices to suspend customs procedures for petroleum and import-export materials of Hai Ha Inland Waterway Transport Company Limited and Xuyen Viet Oil Trading and Transport Company Limited.
According to the General Department of Customs, these 2 companies had their confirmation papers as qualified business entities in the petroleum trading sector revoked by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. As of now, these 2 companies do not meet the conditions for carrying out procedures for import-export, temporary import for re-export, transit, processing for export of petroleum and materials for petroleum blending.

Previously, on January 23, the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security made the decision to initiate a criminal case for violations of regulations on state property management, causing losses and wastefulness, and violations of accounting regulations, resulting in serious consequences, at Hai Ha Inland Waterway Transport Company Limited (Hai Ha Company) and related units.
The investigating agency decided to initiate the prosecution, issue an arrest warrant for temporary detention against Ms. Tran Tuyet Mai, Chairman of the Board of Directors cum General Director of Hai Ha Company.
Regarding Xuyen Viet Oil, on September 8, the Security Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security (A09) initiated a criminal case of “Violations of regulations on state property management, causing losses and wastefulness”, occurring at Xuyen Viet Oil Company and some related agencies and organizations.
The investigating agency also decided to initiate the prosecution, implement the arrest warrant for temporary detention against two individuals: Mai Thi Hong Hanh – Director of Xuyen Viet Oil, Nguyen Thi Nhu Phuong – Deputy Director of Xuyen Viet Oil, for the offense of “Violations of regulations on state property management, causing losses and wastefulness”.
