Minister Dien instructed units to strengthen market inspection and control, strictly handle violations of goods serving people’s lives during the Lunar New Year and essential items.

Solve the supply-demand imbalance in real estate
At the meeting with the leaders and key agencies of the Ministry of Construction on the morning of February 15, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi said that the agency will deploy a series of measures to help the real estate market develop stably and sustainably in the coming time, with a focus on solving the supply-demand issue.
According to Mr. Nghi, the real estate market in 2023 faced many difficulties from the beginning of the year, especially the shortage of supply, imbalanced product structure, mainly in the mid-range, high-end housing, surplus in the tourism real estate segment. Meanwhile, the social housing segment, houses for workers, and affordable commercial housing for low-income and middle-income people faced severe shortages, unable to meet the needs of the people. Many real estate projects are hindered by procedures related to investment, land, and construction… According to Mr. Nghi, the positive signs of the real estate market set expectations for the market to recover and develop in 2024.
Focus on development planning
On February 15, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said that in the context of the world situation, the domestic situation is forecasted to continue to be complex and unpredictable, the Ministry of Planning and Investment will resolutely, concentrate, and deploy the central tasks and key solutions of 2024 with the spirit of strictness, proactive and timely, accelerating innovation, sustainable efficiency.
According to Mr. Dung, to achieve the set goals, businesses need to raise the spirit of innovation, self-reliance, self-strength, further promote the proactive adaptation, seize even the smallest opportunities, have adaptive plans for future changes; proactively catch up with new trends, especially the green economy, circular economy. Businesses also need to promote digital transformation, apply science and technology, pay more attention to training and improving the quality of human resources, and retain employees, especially skilled and high-level workers.
In the near future, one of the major tasks of the national comprehensive planning is to complete the highway network. In 2024, the Ministry of Planning and Investment will focus on building regulations and completing planning for submission to the Government for approval. With the national comprehensive planning, by the end of 2023, 18/39 national sectoral plans and 52/63 provincial plans have been approved. The remaining regional plans (outside the Mekong Delta region) have also been appraised and are completing the submission for approval. The Ministry of Planning and Investment is conducting research to propose mechanisms and policies for the development of dynamic regions and priority economic corridors identified in the planning, expected to be considered and issued by the Government in 2024.
Focusing on developing green agriculture
On February 15, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan led a delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to visit the early Spring rice fields in Thoai Son district (An Giang province) to grasp the situation of pests, production, and consumption links in the 2023 – 2024 winter-spring crop.
Through the field trip, Mr. Hoan hopes that the domestic agriculture sector in general and An Giang in particular will soon apply appropriate farming methods to realize modern agriculture and integrate it with green development. In that, the focus is on the sharing economy, promoting the collective efforts of many people and many industries for efficient and long-term production, instead of applying small-scale competitive thinking as at present.
Duong Hung
