‘Hái ra tiền’ with a post-Tết mining revival service

After the Lunar New Year, the peach garden owners in Nhat Tan, Tay Ho District, Hanoi, are busy taking care of thousands of peach trees returning to the garden, preparing for the next season. With the high demand, many garden owners are overloaded and have to reject customers.

These days, in the Nhat Tan peach gardens, the atmosphere is bustling, not much different from the days before Tet.

The village road is crowded with peach transport vehicles returning to the garden. These are the peach roots that have been sold, rented out by the gardeners to take care of or rented by units and individuals to take care of.

The replanted peach trees are not only purchased peach roots but also ancient and valuable peach roots, which can cost tens of millions of dong to buy from other places.

Depending on the value of the peach roots and the shape of each tree, the garden owner sets different care prices. The higher the value of the peach roots and the more sophisticated the shape, the more expensive the care costs. Accordingly, the full care fee from the time of replanting to Tet fluctuates from 500,000 to 2 million dong per tree.

However, because peach care requires meticulousness, caution, and quite elaboration, many gardeners only dare to take a limited quantity. After Tet Nguyen dan, many people want to hire care but the gardeners have to refuse due to planting space limitations and labor for care.

The peach roots after being transported back to the garden are neatly arranged, pruned, and ready to be “down to the root”.

After being retrieved to the garden, the peach trees are pruned, sprinkled with lime powder to slow down the initial growth rate, ensuring good tree development for the following year, reducing pests and diseases.

Mr. Phuc – the peach garden owner in Nhat Tan, Tay Ho District – said: “In recent years, the number of customers renting exceeds that of buying. One reason is that these peach trees are very precious, the roots are dozens of years old, with value both in material and spiritual terms. At the moment, 70% of the rented peaches have been returned to the garden. In addition, the garden also takes care of trees for families in need. Due to the large workload, I had to hire 7 workers to ensure the earliest replanting of the peach trees.”

The peach trees are irrigated with root-stimulating medicine for their growth.

The trees that are hired to be cared for will have their own markings to avoid confusion.

To have a beautiful peach tree, gardeners must invest a lot of effort in caring such as root treatment, pruning, and planting… These initial steps play an important role in determining the success of a new crop.
