Previously, the Inspectorate of Ho Chi Minh City informed about the lack of preservation measures and slow handling of auctioning the amount of wood recovered from cutting down and evacuating trees, leading to many signs of decayed wood, affecting the quality when auctioned.
The amount of wood recovered in Ho Chi Minh City has reached 4,500m3 and is stored at Dong Thanh Nursery (Hoc Mon District).

Answering this issue at the regular press conference on the economic-societal situation in Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of March 14, Mr. Vu Van Diep – Director of the Technical Infrastructure Management Center (under the Department of Construction of Ho Chi Minh City) said, to date, there have been no specific regulations and instructions on how to handle the liquidation of recovered wood materials from cutting down unsafe, damaged, diseased trees and from evacuating fallen trees.
However, the Infrastructure Center is still proactive in proposing and continuing to maintain the auctioning of recovered wood for the purpose of ensuring the efficiency of revenue collection for the state budget.
In the coming time, the Technical Infrastructure Management Center will continue to urgently carry out the auctioning of the remaining recovered wood. Regularly organize multiple auctions in the year for newly generated recovered wood materials (regardless of the quantity of recovered wood to reduce the time spent on storage and preservation).
In addition, implementing the directives of the People’s Committee of the City, the City Inspectorate, and the Department of Construction, the Infrastructure Center has completed the construction of management processes and auctioning of recovered wood materials for submission to competent authorities for approval and implementation.
At the same time, effectively manage the recovered wood materials during the liquidation and auctioning process: arrange the wood yard in a neat and convenient manner, ensure environmental sanitation, fire prevention and control measures, pay attention to termite control, and focus on safety issues in the storage of recovered wood materials.
