Specifically, MRB said that from mid-March, the trial operation of the urban railway project from Nhổn to Hanoi station officially began. The trial run will take place for 7 weeks.
According to MRB, the Trial run operation is the final step in the 8-step testing and system adjustment process. This step must be done before the project is put into operation. “The goal of this phase is to rely on actual operation, perform a comprehensive process to verify operational factors including documentation, operating procedures, as well as the knowledge and skills of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) personnel,” MRB leadership informed.
The Nhổn – Hanoi station trains are tested before officially running for 7 weeks.
The trial operation process involves the participation of the project owner, the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board, Systra Consulting and the Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Company (Hanoi Metro). Hanoi Metro has the responsibility of providing personnel and managing personnel during the trial run process.
According to MRB’s operation plan, it simulates the operation of the line when there are no passengers by evaluating the skills and knowledge of the recruited and trained operations staff. This includes creating operation training programs, training schedules, mobilizing O&M personnel, conducting training and monitoring O&M personnel. Daily trial operation time will start from 7:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., Monday to Friday.
With the trial operation sections, MRB said they are divided into 3 parts with 3 specific stages. Stage 1: practical operation exercises in normal mode; Stage 2: practical operation exercises in restricted mode; Stage 3: practical operation exercises in emergency mode. “A total of 57 trial operation scenarios will be implemented and evaluated based on evaluation forms prepared and conducted by Systra Consulting. This form includes about 22 criteria on technical and operational factors for evaluation,” MRB leadership informed.
After the operation, the project will be evaluated and certified for system safety, performed according to European standards and Vietnamese regulations. Based on the evaluations, the Consulting company will issue system safety certificates. The Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board will submit the dossier to the Ministry of Transport for assessment. The assessment results will be the basis for considering the official operation of the system.
To prepare for the operation of the Nhon – Hanoi station trains according to the above plan, since early February 2024, Hanoi Metro has implemented a plan to recruit 447 personnel for the project operation. Among these personnel, Hanoi Metro said that 158 people will work in the station operation field, 48 people in the Dispatching and operation department, 12 people in the Technical technology department, and 9 people in the Safety monitoring department…
According to Hanoi Metro, from March, the recruited personnel will start testing the trains, and in July, the official passenger service will be provided.
