Global payments company Stripe has announced that it will begin accepting cryptocurrency payments again after roughly six years.

According to Blockworks, US-based global payments company Stripe will begin accepting cryptocurrency payments again after roughly 6 years.

The company will initially support stablecoin payments this summer. Stripe said it will begin accepting crypto payments via USDC on Solana, Ethereum, and Polygon.

Speaking at the Global Internet Economy Summit, Stripe president John Collison said the company will begin enabling crypto payments.

Stripe previously ended support for Bitcoin (BTC) in 2018.
