At the Conference, Major General Dang Hong Duc, Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Public Security, said that in April 2024, the People’s Public Security Forces (CAND) proactively advised the Party and State on many appropriate policies and decisions in resolving international issues, economic and social development policies, and ensuring national security and the country’s interests…
Major programs, plans, projects, and projects were implemented drastically; many aspects of national security were promoted, and security in key and complex areas was strengthened.
In addition, the fight against crime achieved many positive results. Many major investigations and complex cases were investigated and solved quickly, creating a positive public opinion. Many organized and transnational criminal rings were dismantled.
In detail, the CAND investigated and solved 3,692 cases of social order violations; arrested and handled 7,591 subjects; dismantled 22 criminal gangs; arrested, persuaded to surrender, and eliminated 282 wanted subjects; arrested and handled 472 cases and 2,299 gambling subjects.
Moreover, the CAND also expedited the investigation of cases under the supervision and direction of the Central Steering Committee on Corruption Prevention and Control.
Speaking at the Conference, Minister To Lam highly appreciated the achievements and feats that the CAND had accomplished in the recent past. Regarding the tasks in May and the coming time, Minister To Lam requested that the Public Security of units and localities focus on implementing security and order measures for the activities commemorating the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, the Reunification of the Country (April 30), International Labor Day (May 1), and the activities commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7).
The forces directly responsible for ensuring security and order, participating in the parade at the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory, should uphold their sense of responsibility, overcome all difficulties, and absolutely not allow any mistakes, even the smallest ones.
In addition, the Minister of Public Security also requested to fight, prevent, and neutralize the plots and activities of hostile and reactionary forces; strengthen immigration management… Expedite the settlement of key cases under the supervision and direction of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Negativity, and cases of public concern.
Increase the rate of resolving crime reports and denunciations. Focus on combating and dismantling criminal gangs that take advantage of tourist destinations, festivals, and key traffic routes to commit crimes.
