In mid-April, Huawei began reopening orders for their Luxeed S7 electric vehicle. The vehicle was originally released in November 2023, but due to several production issues, large-scale orders were delayed.
As we reported earlier, Huawei has implemented some covert policies in an attempt to “steal customers” from the Xiaomi SU7 electric vehicle. Specifically, according to the Chengdu Business Daily, customers who purchase a Luxeed S7 electric vehicle can receive an immediate discount of 5,000 yuan.
The figure of 5,000 yuan was chosen because it is the non-refundable deposit for the Xiaomi SU7. Huawei wants people who have pre-ordered the Xiaomi SU7 to switch to their Luxeed S7 without worrying about losing the deposit.

The Chengdu Business Daily contacted a Huawei authorized experience store in Chengdu, Sichuan to verify the information. A store employee said: “This policy does exist.” The employee added, “All stores across the country can apply this to customers.” According to the information, since the release of the Xiaomi SU7, Huawei stores across the country have implemented this temporary policy, which will continue until the end of May.
The store employee added: “Some potential Xiaomi SU7 customers are considering other brands due to the long wait for delivery. We proactively introduce the preferential policy when customers express this desire. We compensate for the deposit the Xiaomi owners have lost. ”
Not long after this information was disseminated across Chinese newspapers and social media, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun himself commented on Weibo.

Earlier in April, ahead of the Luxeed S7’s grand re-release, Lei Jun shared a post about the launch of Huawei’s electric vehicle, with the comment: “The next 10 years will be the decade of artificial intelligence. Let’s work together to promote China’s new energy vehicle industry. I wish Luxeed S7 great success!”
