Amid the sweltering heat wave gripping Hanoi, with temperatures soaring to 40 degrees Celsius during the May Day holiday, hundreds of construction workers have been toiling under the sun to complete the city’s Ring Road 4 project.
On April 29th, crews on Package 9 of the Ring Road 4 project in Hoai Duc and Dan Phuong districts were observed working diligently to meet project deadlines.
Nguyen Hoang Hai, project manager for Package 9, told PV Tien Phong that the dry weather conditions during the holiday period provided an opportunity for contractors to make significant progress on various aspects of the project.
The construction site for Package 9 currently operates 23 work fronts covering tasks such as soil treatment, bridge construction, and road paving to ensure timely completion of the project.
According to Hai, the project team has mobilized 300 workers and over 200 pieces of heavy machinery to work in three shifts daily.
To boost morale, the contractor has organized a half-day break for workers to celebrate at the construction site.
Meanwhile, Hai acknowledged that land acquisition for the Ring Road 4 project remains a significant challenge due to the presence of high-voltage power lines and water pipelines.
The Ring Road 4 project, which spans a 17-kilometer stretch through Hoai Duc district, traverses 12 communes and requires the acquisition of approximately 240 hectares of land, including nearly 166 hectares of agricultural land impacting approximately 6,200 households.
