The Great Asset Audit: A Trial Inventory at 2 Ministries and 3 Local Governments

Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance Initiates Trial Inventory Inspection

Per Decision No. 1138/QD-BTC by the Ministry of Finance, the trial inventory inspection will involve two ministries and three localities.

Specifically, the participating entities include: Ministry of Finance (State Treasury system); Ministry of Transport (Vietnam Road Administration, Vietnam Aviation Administration, Vietnam Inland Waterways Administration).

Hanoi: Entities subject to the inspection fall under the Department of Transport, Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, Hai Ba Trung District, and Gia Lam District.

Danang: The inspection covers entities under the Department of Transport, Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Hai Chau District, and Hoa Vang District.

Hai Phong: Entities under the Department of Transport and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in Ngo Quyen District and Thuy Nguyen District are included in the inspection.

To facilitate the trial inventory inspection, the Ministry of Finance issued Document No. 5214/BTC-QLCS, requesting the State Treasury, Ministry of Transport, and the Departments of Finance of Hanoi, Danang, and Hai Phong to establish inspection teams led by leaders of respective units, with team members decided by the unit heads.

Additionally, the Ministry of Finance instructed these ministries and localities to prepare relevant documents and accounting books for the inspection and to familiarize themselves with the updated inventory forms provided by the Department of Public Asset Management (Ministry of Finance).
