According to the Binh Thuan Provincial Statistics Office, in the first six months of 2024, the province welcomed an estimated 4.58 million tourists, a 5.01% increase compared to the same period in 2023. International visitors accounted for 234,000 arrivals, a significant surge of 91.25% year-on-year, mainly from South Korea, China, Russia, Germany, the UK, and the US.

June, the peak summer holiday month, saw over 856,000 visitors flock to Binh Thuan, including 38,600 international arrivals, generating approximately VND 519 billion in revenue. The tourism sector observed a vibrant tourism scene in the province since the beginning of the year, especially during holidays, festivals, and weekends, with a sudden surge in visitor numbers.

The increase in visitor numbers compared to the previous year can be attributed to favorable factors such as good weather, improved transportation, and attractive promotional tour packages. Meanwhile, the majority of staying visitors were domestic tourists, and they mostly concentrated in the Ham Tien, Mui Ne, and Tien Thanh areas.

A highlight of the tourism sector in the first six months of 2024 is the NovaWorld Phan Thiet complex, which boasts large-scale, modern, and attractive entertainment areas. Additionally, the regular hosting of cultural, sports, and tourism events in the province also contributes to creating appealing features that attract both domestic and international tourists.

With its convenient transportation infrastructure, just about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Ho Chi Minh City, NovaWorld Phan Thiet continuously enhances its facilities and invests in a variety of unique activities and events to attract domestic and international tourists and contribute to local tourism development plans.

Since the beginning of June, NovaWorld Phan Thiet has been organizing weekly music events to provide a relaxing space for tourists and residents. The music nights feature various themes, from gentle and soulful Pop and R&B to energetic EDM and Rock. Until the end of the month, this metropolitan area will continue to maintain a musical space at Bikini Beach Square with the participation of famous singers.

Moreover, thanks to the visa exemption policy and the granting of electronic visas, along with unique and attractive tourism products and services, Binh Thuan has become a top choice for international visitors when coming to Vietnam.

Phan Thiet’s tourism infrastructure is constantly improving.

In the future, a series of completed “lifeline” transportation projects, such as the Dau Giay – Phan Thiet Expressway and the Phan Thiet – Vinh Hao route, along with upcoming projects like the DT719B route and Phan Thiet Airport, will provide a significant boost to the development of Phan Thiet’s tourism industry in the near future.

Mr. Bui The Nhan, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, stated that to further develop Binh Thuan’s tourism industry, live up to its potential, and achieve the target of 9.5 million tourists in 2024, it is essential to not only exploit existing potentials but also focus on developing entertainment, culinary, and recreational complexes to attract tourists.

While Da Nang is known for its iconic “Golden Bridge” and Phu Yen proudly boasts the “Tower of Welcoming Wind – Asia’s Urban Landscape Award-winning structure”, there is a growing need for new and exciting destinations that attract tourists, extend their stay, and transform Phan Thiet – Binh Thuan into the number one tourist destination in Southern Vietnam, not just for relaxation but also for entertainment and recreation.
