Ho Chi Minh City’s budget revenue sees positive growth
Ho Chi Minh City
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Statistics Office, the city’s total budget revenue for the first six months of 2024 is estimated at VND 268,947 billion, reaching 55.7% of the estimate and an increase of 18% compared to the same period.
Domestic revenue is estimated at VND 195,583 billion, accounting for 58.6% of the estimate, 72.7% of the total balance, and a 29% year-on-year increase. State-owned enterprises’ revenue is estimated at VND 17,362 billion, reaching 58.1% of the estimate, contributing 6.5% to the total revenue, and an increase of 18.7% year-on-year.
Revenue from the non-state sector is estimated at VND 58,476 billion, accounting for 63.8% of the estimate, 21.7% of the total revenue, and a year-on-year increase of 23.1%. Foreign-invested enterprises’ revenue is estimated at VND 42,981 billion, reaching 63.8% of the estimate, contributing 16% to the total revenue, and an increase of 19% year-on-year.
Crude oil revenue is estimated at VND 11,060 billion, reaching 61.8% of the estimate, accounting for 4.1% of the total state budget revenue, and a decrease of 12.8% year-on-year. Revenue from import-export activities is estimated at VND 62,300 billion, reaching 47.6% of the estimate, contributing 23.2% to the total balance, and a slight decrease of 2.1% compared to the same period.
Local budget revenue in Ho Chi Minh City for the first six months of 2024 is estimated at VND 99,504 billion, reaching 70.6% of the estimate, accounting for 37% of the total state budget revenue, and an increase of 56.4% compared to the same period last year.
Hanoi
According to the Hanoi Statistics Office, in the first six months of the year, the total state budget revenue in Hanoi is estimated at VND 252,100 billion, reaching 61.7% of the annual estimate and an increase of 12.5% compared to the same period in 2023.
Domestic revenue stands at VND 237,700 billion, accounting for 62.8% of the estimate and an increase of 12.8% year-on-year. Crude oil revenue reaches VND 2,000 billion, making up 66.5% of the estimate and a 3.1% increase year-on-year. Revenue from import-export activities is estimated at VND 12,300 billion, reaching 45.6% of the estimate and a 9.2% increase compared to the same period.
Hai Phong
In Hai Phong, the total state budget revenue for the first six months of 2024 is estimated at VND 62,716 billion, reaching 58.74% of the estimate given by the Municipal People’s Council and a year-on-year increase of 138.99%. Domestic revenue stands at VND 30,761 billion.
Ba Ria – Vung Tau
According to the Ba Ria – Vung Tau Department of Planning and Investment, in the first six months, the total budget revenue in the province is approximately VND 48,674 billion, an increase of 10.63% (detailed information not yet available).
Binh Duong
As reported by the Binh Duong Department of Finance, the province’s total budget revenue for the first six months of 2024 is estimated at VND 35,200 billion, reaching 54% of the Prime Minister’s estimate and 49% of the Provincial People’s Council’s estimate, an increase of 10.6% year-on-year. Domestic revenue stands at VND 26,667 billion, accounting for 55% of the Prime Minister’s estimate and the Provincial People’s Council’s estimate, and an increase of 11.2% compared to the same period last year. Revenue from import and export activities is VND 8,495 billion, reaching 51% of the Prime Minister’s estimate and the Provincial People’s Council’s estimate, an increase of 8.6% year-on-year.
Quang Ninh
According to the Quang Ninh Department of Finance, the total state budget revenue in the province for the first six months of 2024 is estimated at over VND 30,700 billion, reaching 58% of the central estimate and 55% of the provincial estimate.
Dong Nai
According to the People’s Committee of Dong Nai, in the first six months of 2024, the province’s economy recovered and developed positively. The total budget revenue reached over VND 30,500 billion (54% of the estimate and 110% compared to the same period in 2023).
Thanh Hoa
The total state budget revenue in Thanh Hoa province for the first six months of 2024 is estimated at VND 27,348 billion, reaching 76.9% of the estimate, an increase of 29.6% year-on-year. Domestic revenue is estimated at VND 16,673 billion.
Hung Yen
According to the report on socio-economic development in the first six months of 2024 of Hung Yen province, in the first half of 2024, the total state budget revenue is estimated at VND 21,445 billion, an increase of 39.83% compared to the same period last year and reaching 65.34% of the annual plan.
Bac Ninh
According to the Bac Ninh Statistics Office, in the first six months of 2024, the total state budget revenue in the province is estimated at VND 17,688 billion, reaching 56.6% of the 2024 estimate and an increase of 31.7% year-on-year. Domestic revenue is estimated at VND 14,000 billion, an increase of 32.3%. Revenue from customs is estimated at VND 3,688 billion, an increase of 29.8%.
Notably, after falling out of the top 10 in 2022-2023, Bac Ninh has returned to the list of the top 10 provinces with the highest budget revenue. Bac Ninh’s economy grew by 2.32% in the first six months of 2024, a rebound from the country’s lowest growth rate of -9.28% in 2023.
