The Chery Group’s outstanding performance in the first half of 2024 undoubtedly highlights the globalization journey of Chinese automotive brands. With exceptional market performance, innovative product lines, and growing brand influence, Chery is steadily establishing a strong presence in the global automotive market.

Founded in 1997, Chery is headquartered in Anhui, China. Over the past two decades of development, Chery has emerged as one of China’s largest automobile manufacturers and the country’s top automobile exporter for 22 consecutive years, with export sales reaching nearly one million vehicles in 2023.

Chery currently owns five sub-brands: Chery, Exeed, Omoda, Jetour, and Icar, offering a diverse range of vehicles from SUVs, Crossovers, and Sedans to electric cars.

OMODA & JAECOO are two new automotive brands under the Chery Automobile Group – one of China’s largest automobile manufacturers and its leading automobile exporter for 22 consecutive years. With a production output of nearly one million vehicles in 2023, Chery has a presence in approximately 90 countries worldwide.

Recently, during a media partner event held on June 12, 2024, in Hanoi, the representative of the joint venture distributing OMODA & JAECOO vehicles revealed plans to inaugurate 20 3S dealerships following global standards in 2024.

The brand also announced a roadmap to increase the total number of 3S dealerships to a minimum of 30 in 2025. The entire dealership system will be built according to global 3S standards, providing maximum peace of mind regarding after-sales service when purchasing OMODA & JAECOO vehicles in Vietnam.

On April 4, 2024, the Geleximco Group and Chery Group officially signed a joint venture contract in Hanoi. Accordingly, the two parties will collaborate to build a factory in Thai Binh province to produce OMODA & JAECOO-branded vehicles with a capacity of 200,000 vehicles per year and a total investment of 800 million USD.

During the construction of the factory, OMODA & JAECOO will approach the Vietnamese market by importing completely built-up vehicles from Indonesia. The two models expected to be launched this year include the OMODA C5 and JAECOO J7.
