If this is achieved, the VF 3 could break sales records in Vietnam, with VinFast securing its position as a leading domestic brand.

VinFast has officially delivered the first mini EVs, VF 3, to customers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on August 1st, staying true to their previous commitment.

According to VinFast, the early delivery of the vehicles, just three months after booking, showcases the brand’s impressive production capabilities and optimized manufacturing processes.

VinFast VF 3 has received nearly 28,000 orders (with deposits) within 66 hours of its launch in May 2024. The company plans to deliver a minimum of 20,000 VF 3s by the end of this year. Some internal sources even suggest that they aim to fulfill all nearly 28,000 orders.

Even if we consider the target of 20,000 vehicles for the remaining five months (including August), the average monthly sales of VinFast VF 3 could reach 4,000 units – a number unmatched by any other car model in the Vietnamese market.

To put this into perspective, TMT Motors, despite high expectations last year, set a modest sales target of 1,000 units per month for their Wuling Mini EV – the main competitor of VinFast VF 3. They managed to sell only 591 units over five months, averaging a little over 100 units per month.

Even the best-selling cars in the Vietnamese market during its peak sales year (2022) fell short, reaching just over 3,000 units per month.

Should VinFast meet their delivery goals, the VF 3 model is poised to set numerous sales records in the Vietnamese automobile market. With over 20,000 units expected to be delivered, the VF 3 could easily rank among the top-selling cars in the market. In the first half of 2024, the best-selling car was the VinFast VF 5, with approximately 13,000 units sold, followed by the Mitsubishi Xpander with over 11,000 units.

The delivery of the nearly 20,000 VF 3s with prior deposits this year will also likely propel VinFast to the top spot in terms of sales volume in the Vietnamese market – aligning with the goal set by Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong in a recent discussion.

“We are truly overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response from customers nationwide for the VF 3,” shared Mr. Vu Anh Tuan, CEO of VinFast Vietnam, at the delivery ceremony.

The VF 3 is a mini electric car with a unique 2-door, boxy design. It comes in four basic colors and five advanced colors, with the option to choose a custom color for a fee of 15 million VND.

Despite its compact size, the VF 3 comfortably seats four adults. It features a 10-inch touchscreen, a gear shift lever behind the steering wheel, a length of 3,190 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,075 mm. The car is powered by an electric motor with a capacity of 30 kW, maximum torque of 110 Nm, and can accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in 5.3 seconds. A single charge provides a range of 215 km.

The VF 3 is priced at 240 million VND with a battery lease option or 322 million VND with battery ownership. The battery lease costs 900,000 VND per month for distances under 1,500 km, 1.2 million VND for 1,500 to 2,500 km, and 2 million VND for distances over 2,500 km.
