Omoda C5: The Upcoming Affordable and Feature-Rich SUV

Get ready for an exciting ride as the Omoda C5 is set to hit the roads in the latter half of 2024! According to the brand’s distributor, the much-anticipated SUV will be launched in Q4 of 2024, with pricing details to be revealed at that time.

Previously, the Omoda C5 made its debut at an event held in Hai Phong’s Dragon Hill earlier this year. While the pricing remains undisclosed, the brand aims to position itself within the top 5 in sales in Vietnam, indicating a competitive price range.

Automotive experts predict that a competitive price point will make the Omoda & Jaecoo models more accessible to the masses. Additionally, the upcoming completion of the first phase of the Thai Binh factory in 2025 will further contribute to more attractive pricing for locally assembled vehicles.

With its overall dimensions of 4,400 x 1,830 x 1,588 mm and a wheelbase of 2,630 mm, the Omoda C5 competes in the same segment as the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, and Honda HR-V. It slightly edges out the Kia Seltos, which measures 4,365 x 1,800 x 1,645 mm with a 2,610 mm wheelbase.

Omoda C5 takes on its rivals with a host of ADAS and interior comfort features.

On the exterior, the Omoda C5 boasts a striking diamond-pattern grille, sharp Full LED T-shaped headlights, a sporty fastback-style rear, and eye-catching two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels.

The interior of the Omoda C5 embraces a modern minimalist design, featuring a dual 10.25-inch screen setup, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration, intelligent voice commands, and a 360-degree camera. Additional premium comforts include power-adjustable and heated seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a high-quality Sony audio system.

Under the hood, the Omoda C5 is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged engine mated to a CVT transmission with 8-speed simulated gear shifts. This Chinese-made SUV goes head-to-head with its competitors by offering a comprehensive ADAS package, including adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive headlights.

Standing Out with Impressive After-Sales Services

In addition to its impressive features, the Omoda C5’s distributor sweetens the deal with an extensive warranty policy: 1,000,000 km or 10 years, whichever comes first. This is significantly longer than the standard 3-5 year or 150,000-200,000 km warranties offered by other brands.

The after-sales services are a strategic move to win over Vietnamese customers.

This extended warranty serves as a strong testament to the brand’s confidence in its product quality, especially as it enters the Vietnamese market. To further enhance customer convenience, Omoda & Jaecoo plan to establish a nationwide network of 3S dealerships, with 20 such outlets expected to open this year.

Following the launch of the Omoda C5, the Jaecoo J7 will be the next model to make its debut. This upcoming vehicle will also feature a traditional internal combustion engine, with the potential for a plug-in hybrid variant.
