Increasing charter capital to VND 1,000 billion

Specifically, the PBSV’s Board of Directors has approved a plan to increase its charter capital from VND 135 billion to VND 1,000 billion, or over 7.4 times.

Currently, all of PBSV’s capital is contributed by Public Bank (Vietnam) Limited Liability One Member Company Limited (Public Bank Vietnam), which acquired it from RHB Investment Bank (Malaysia). On February 19, 2024, this organization signed an agreement with RHB Investment Bank to acquire 100% of the capital in RHB Vietnam Securities.

On June 4, the State Securities Commission (SSC) of Vietnam approved the transfer. On June 21, the SSC issued a license for a name change to Public Bank Vietnam Securities Company as it is known today.

Recently, on August 5, the Company also officially changed its website domain name from rhbsecurities.vn to pbsv.com.vn.

Welcoming a new female CEO

At the meeting, the PBSV’s Board of Directors acknowledged the SSC’s approval of the appointment of Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ha as General Director and legal representative of the Company, effective August 5, 2024.

This outcome was expected by many, as prior to this, Ms. Ha had been appointed as Deputy General Director of PBSV, effective July 10, until she received SSC approval to become the General Director and legal representative of PBSV, replacing Mr. Lee Ming How (Malaysia).

It is known that Nguyen Thi Bich Ha, born in 1984 in Phu Tho province, according to the information disclosure made at the beginning of July, Ms. Ha does not hold any positions in other organizations.

In terms of business performance, in the second quarter, PBSV generated over VND 5.5 billion in revenue, up 30% year-on-year, mainly due to a 111% increase in securities brokerage revenue.

However, expenses amounting to more than VND 6 billion caused PBSV to incur a net loss of nearly VND 511 million. The major expenses include salary, depreciation of fixed assets, telecommunications, and data fees.

Despite the loss, the second-quarter results still showed improvement compared to the loss of nearly VND 1.2 billion in the same period last year.
