Shopee has just concluded its “8.8 Super Free Shipping” campaign, and the results are astonishing.
During this event, the total volume of products traded on the platform exceeded 1 billion tons, which is 244 times the weight of the heaviest building in the world. Among the products traded, laundry detergent, diapers, suitcases, desks, and fresh milk were the top-selling items by weight, with 322 tons of detergent and 288 tons of diapers sold.
With Shopee’s free shipping policy, Vietnamese users also saved over VND 625 billion in shipping fees, five times more than the amount saved during the 7/7 promotion.
According to Shopee, this not only reflects the strong purchasing power of online shoppers in Vietnam but also demonstrates the effectiveness of the e-commerce platform’s strategies.
“We continuously collaborate with logistics partners to optimize our operations and reduce delivery times,” said Tran Tuan Anh, Director of Shopee Vietnam. “By offering various promotions, we help users save on shopping costs.”
On August 8, the peak day of the shopping event, the number of active users on the platform increased by 31 times compared to regular days, with a 29-fold increase in users from rural areas and small towns.
