According to a recent report by BVSC on Joint Stock Company Digiworld (stock code: DGW), chip manufacturers for x86 (Intel, AMD) and ARM (Apple, Qualcomm) architectures are enhancing their specifications to cater to new applications and trends in AI.

Most computer users can now access cloud-based AI applications on their personal devices, provided their CPUs and GPUs are powerful enough.

However, BVSC believes that the benefits of on-device AI, such as faster response times, lower latency, enhanced security, and the ability to process AI operations without an internet connection, will be crucial factors for consumers when considering an upgrade or replacement of their current computers.

Canalys’ research estimates that 48 million AI-integrated PCs (desktops and laptops) will be shipped by manufacturers in 2024, accounting for 18% of total shipments for the year.

The report also forecasts that by 2025, 100 million AI-integrated machines will be distributed, making up 40% of the total number of machines shipped. This marks the beginning of a new replacement/upgrade cycle for PC users, encompassing both desktops and laptops.

Additionally, 2025 will be a pivotal year for the new computer replacement cycle as Microsoft plans to discontinue support for Windows 10 users.

On average, from 2024 to 2028, the compound annual growth rate for AI-integrated PCs is expected to reach 44%, capturing a 70% market share of total PC shipments by 2028.

BVSC concludes that AI-integrated laptops and the upcoming replacement cycle will act as catalysts for DGW’s business growth in 2025-2026.
