In Long An, Mr. Le Thanh Ung, a farmer in Go Do Nho hamlet, boldly allocated 6 hectares of land to grow OM18 rice and test this new method.
“During the Summer-Autumn crop of 2024, I was chosen by the Corporation to implement the model of using drones to fertilize Phu My rice on 6 hectares of land. I received support in the form of one bag of fertilizer and 1 million VND for each hectare of rice under the model,” shared Mr. Ung. “I expect to harvest the rice in the next 5-7 days, with an estimated yield of 6 tons or more (1-2 tons higher than previous crops). I anticipate a cost reduction of 3-4 million VND per hectare for this crop.”

At the workshop, the representative of DPM and nearly 40 farmers from Binh Thanh commune visited the demonstration model in Mr. Ung’s field. Most farmers observed that the model of using drones to apply Phu My fertilizer resulted in stronger rice stalks, less pest and disease incidence, more uniform ripening, reduced costs, and increased rice yield.
“Through this visit, I can clearly see the quality difference between the experimental and control fields. The rice in the experimental field is healthier and has a higher yield, while also requiring lower production costs,” exclaimed Mr. Le Van Thanh, another enthusiastic farmer in the area. “I highly appreciate this model and plan to implement it in the upcoming crops.”

In addition to the demonstration, the PVFCCo representative also introduced the Phu My fertilizer product line and provided guidance on their usage. A representative from AgriDrone was also present to introduce the drone solution for fertilizer application and pesticide spraying in agricultural production.
According to the PVFCCo representative, these models are implemented to promote the application of advanced technology in agricultural production, aiming to increase yield, reduce input costs, and improve farmers’ incomes. Simultaneously, through this model, the company can also assess the quality, suitability, and effectiveness of Phu My fertilizer for this new production method.
