iShares ETF Stock Changes for the Week of August 12-19, 2024

During this period, iShares ETF offloaded all its holdings of VCG and HDG stocks, amounting to 58,090 shares and 6,528 shares, respectively. Additionally, they sold off 16,825 shares of DBD, another stock in their portfolio.

With the removal of these two stocks, as of August 19, the Fund holds only two Vietnamese stocks in its portfolio: VND and DBD. VND accounts for the highest proportion at 0.04% – equivalent to 161,747 shares. The total asset value at this time stands at over 231 million USD, a slight decrease from the over 237 million USD recorded on August 12.

iShares ETF has been consistently selling off Vietnamese stocks since June 11, 2024, following the announcement by asset management giant BlackRock that the ETF would cease trading and no longer accept creation or redemption orders after the market close on March 31, 2025. The announcement also highlighted that this timeline is subject to change.

Following the announcement of the fund’s closure, BlackRock hit an impressive milestone: its assets under management for the second quarter reached a record-high of 10.65 trillion USD. This achievement was bolstered by the strong performance of global stock markets and significant inflows into the company’s ETFs.
