Honda has just announced new retail prices for two of its models, the Honda City and CR-V (gasoline version only), effective from September 1st.

The Honda City will receive a price cut of between 40 to 60 million VND, with the G trim now starting at 499 million VND (a reduction of 60 million), the L trim at 539 million VND (a reduction of 50 million), and the RS trim at 569 million VND (a reduction of 40 million).

Meanwhile, the Honda CR-V will also see its price lowered, with the G trim reduced by 80 million VND to 1.029 billion VND, and the L and L AWD trims both decreased by 60 million VND, now priced at 1.099 billion and 1.25 billion VND respectively. It’s worth noting that the e:HEV variant is excluded from these price cuts.

Honda CR-V

In addition to the new pricing, customers may also benefit from additional promotions offered by dealerships, as well as a 50% reduction in registration fees from September 1st to the end of November, in line with government policies. This could result in a further reduction of 25 to 60 million VND in on-the-road costs.

This can be seen as a strong incentive by Honda to boost sales during the year-end period. Typically, when the government’s 50% reduction in registration fees is implemented, many manufacturers tend to scale back their promotions and discounts, resulting in minimal savings for car buyers.

For imported models like the BR-V and HR-V, Honda is maintaining its offer of either a 50% discount on registration fees or a 220 million VND cash incentive for the Accord, a sedan in the C-segment.

Model Discount (million VND) New Price (million VND)
City RS 40 569
City L 50 539
City G 60 499
CR-V L AWD 60 1,250
CR-V L 60 1,099
CR-V G 80 1,029
BR-V 50% registration fee
1-year hull insurance
HR-V 50% registration fee
Accord 220

In July, Honda delivered a total of 2,406 vehicles, bringing the year-to-date total to over 12,800 units, an increase of approximately 9.2% compared to the same period last year.

The Honda City remains the brand’s best-selling model with over 4,000 units sold, followed by the HR-V with around 3,000 units. The Honda CR-V has recorded nearly 3,000 sales, including an impressive 800 units of the hybrid version.

Honda has been one of the most proactive manufacturers in terms of offering price reductions to stimulate demand since the beginning of the year.
