Based on the proposals of the Provincial People’s Council on the dismissal and introduction of the Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thai Nguyen province for the term 2021-2026, at the 12th session of the Provincial People’s Council of Thai Nguyen province, term XIV, Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, Vice Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, was elected as the Chairman of Thai Nguyen People’s Committee. province, with a rate of 98.43% (1 delegate absent).

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung emphasized that this is a great honor and also a heavy responsibility entrusted by the Party Committee and people of Thai Nguyen province.
In his new position, Mr. Dung pledged to make comprehensive efforts to promote the potential and strengths of the province, thus contributing to the country’s development. He will focus on digitizing government activities from the provincial to the communal level, as well as digitizing and greening economic, cultural, and social activities to create a transparent administrative environment.
His main goal is to bring the government, people, and businesses closer together, develop infrastructure and social welfare, and nurture a thriving business community in Thai Nguyen. He will also harness the collective power of the Party Committee and People’s Committee to implement the directions of the Provincial Party Committee and its Standing Committee.
Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, born in 1983, holds a Master’s degree in Information Technology and graduated from a university in Singapore. He is a senior political theory graduate. He has held several positions, including Deputy Director and Director of the Department of Information Security, and Director of the Department of Informatization.
From 2020 to 2024, Mr. Dung served as Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union, and Vice President of the National Cyber Security Association. On August 27, 2024, the Central Party Secretariat assigned Mr. Dung, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, to work as Vice Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the term 2020-2025.
