Three presentations on the topics of Ultra-High-Performance (UHP) and harsh weather admixtures, grinding aids, and slow-release concrete admixture technology were delivered at an event held in Ho Chi Minh City on September 6th.

Mr. Han Jae Joon, CEO of SILKROAD VINA, giving the opening remarks at the workshop.

Kicking off the workshop, Dr. Ahn Tae Ho, Director and Chemical Admixture Development Expert for Concrete at the SILKROAD C&T Research Institute in South Korea, presented a paper on the topic of “Ultra-High-Performance (UHP) and Harsh Weather Admixtures.”

With the ban on sand mining leading to an increase in the use of lower-quality aggregates, which negatively impacts concrete, SILKROAD’s ultra-high-performance chemical admixtures can ensure fluidity even when using low-quality aggregates, allowing for stable ready-mixed concrete production.

In his presentation, Dr. Ahn Tae Ho also introduced products showcasing SILKROAD’s unique technology, such as PFR3000, a concrete admixture for harsh weather conditions, optimized for the Vietnamese climate.

Following this, Dr. Nguyen Khanh Son, a lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, shared his experience on the application of mixing and cutting equipment in the production of slow-release cement and concrete admixtures. Mr. Lee Min Jae, Technical-Production Director of SILKROAD VINA JSC, then presented on the SRGA grinding aid product line, optimized for cement blends and the Vietnamese climate.

The SILKROAD Group is the first company in South Korea to research, develop, and produce third-generation PCE admixtures, and it is also a leading company in the field of chemical admixtures for quick-setting and grinding aids. To date, the group has a wide network of operations throughout Southeast Asia, with five subsidiaries, two in South Korea, two in Vietnam, and one in Thailand.

SILKROAD plans to commence construction of an additional plant in Da Nang in 2024.
