Get Ready for the Exciting Year-End Travel Season

The year-end travel season is officially upon us, following the explosive September 2nd holiday. The Vietnam Tourism Association predicts that in 2024, Vietnamese will make up to 120 million domestic tourism trips and over 10 million outbound trips – double the number from last year.

This year-end travel season offers countless attractive destinations within Vietnam: from enjoying the autumn in Hanoi, soaking in hot springs in Quang Ninh, to exploring the Northwest during rice harvest season. Traveling abroad has never been easier, with the list of visa-free countries increasing to 55, along with many international airports implementing automated entry procedures.

Changi Airport in Singapore is currently equipped with 800 automated lanes across four terminals, welcoming Vietnamese visitors with a seamless entry process that takes less than a minute. Along with this, Singapore offers exclusive experiences unique to the lion city: the Monet painting exhibition (July 14 – September 17), a virtual reality exhibition for fans of Studio Ghibli (October 4, 2024 – February 2, 2025), and the Singapore Grand Prix (September 13-22)…

If you’re planning to combine travel with concert-going, Malaysia is the ideal destination this season. Beyond its natural landscapes and rich culture, Malaysia also captivates with its year-end festivals such as Hari Malaysia (September 16), the Festival of Lights Deepavali (November 1-5), and concerts by Bruno Mars (September 17) and Dua Lipa (November 23)…

The beauty of Korea and Japan during the fall foliage season will also tempt you to visit these regions towards the end of the year. Experiencing Christmas in Europe is another excellent excuse to pack your bags and enjoy a luxurious holiday with VIB’s new exclusive privileges.

5 Exclusive Privileges for VIB Credit Cardholders

Accompanying credit cardholders on their journey of exploration and enjoyment, VIB has launched the “Unlock Privileges 4.0” program for the last three months of the year, from September 10 to November 30, 2024.

“Unlock Privileges 4.0” will follow the journey of credit cardholders of Online Plus 2in1, Cash Back, Family Link, LazCard, Super Card, Travel Élite, and Premier Boundless. Each experience will be made more memorable with enhanced benefits and a wider range of options.

A notable privilege is the dining experience, offering up to a 30% discount on fine dining at seven renowned hotels: Hôtel des Arts Saigon, Renaissance Riverside Saigon Hotel, Park Hyatt Saigon, New World Saigon Hotel, Sofitel Saigon Plaza, InterContinental Saigon Hotel, and Hotel Equatorial HCM.

Cardholders can also easily indulge in the menus of five premium restaurants: Shang Palace Restaurant, Capos Hanoi – Spanish Tapas Bar, Octo Tapas Restobar, Godmother Bake & Brunch, and El Gaucho Steakhouse, with similar discounts.

During the nearly three-month program, the cardholder with the highest overseas POS spending will receive a Vietnam Airlines Golden Lotus membership card to enjoy additional privileges such as priority check-in, access to the business class lounge, and extra free baggage allowance. Additionally, VIB will present a Vietnam Airlines Silver Lotus membership card to the cardholder with the highest monthly POS spending.

VIB cardholders can also benefit from the “travel like a local” experience with the best foreign exchange rates in the market. All transactions in foreign currencies will be based on the “floor rate” when converting to US Dollars as announced by the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) on the last day of the month in which the transaction occurred.

For example, a cardholder who makes a transaction of $55 on October 28, with the posting date of November 1, will be entitled to the SBV’s floor rate announced on October 31. VIB will refund the exchange rate difference of up to VND 2 million per customer. Refer to the SBV’s floor rate here.

Another highlight of this year’s program is the birthday privilege. 50 customers with birthdays each month and the highest number of transactions in the previous month will receive fresh flower deliveries on their special day.

The financial privilege continues to offer cardholders the Diamond account package, waiving various fees for online and in-branch banking services. With this package, cardholders also receive priority service at the counter with no waiting time and exclusive product consultations in the VIP room or through a dedicated hotline for VIP customers.
