“9.9 Super Shopping Day” has concluded successfully, creating a resonant value chain for buyers and sellers on the platform. The event offered a diverse range of products with attractive deals, helping users save on their purchases, while also assisting sellers and brands in optimizing the user experience and boosting sales effectively.
“The statistics from the 9.9 event clearly show the trend of self-investment and family focus among the majority of our users. This shopping behavior aligns with the growing intentional consumption in our community, especially towards the end of the year. The practical discounts and free shipping offers during the 9.9 event also helped users save thousands of billions of VND in shopping value. At the same time, we actively supported sellers and brands in reaching the right target customers and generating effective orders through operational and marketing support packages and many free e-commerce skill training programs,” said Mr. Tran Tuan Anh, Executive Director of Shopee Vietnam.
Users saved over 1,800 billion VND through practical platform and seller promotions
Throughout the two-week 9.9 event, users maximized the promotions offered by Shopee and nearly 1.6 million sellers and brands, resulting in savings of over 1,800 billion VND in shopping expenses.
On 9.9 alone, the number of orders increased fourfold compared to regular days.
Notably, users tend to focus on investing in themselves and their homes towards the end of the year. This is evident in the fact that facial skincare, laundry, and home care products were among the top 5 best-selling categories, with the number of orders on 9.9 increasing sixfold compared to regular days.
Especially, Shopee users utilized nearly 80 million free shipping codes to shop throughout the 9.9 event. They prioritized using free shipping codes for purchasing “heavy” products such as refrigerators, dishwashers, and sofa beds. Additionally, the highest number of bulky orders were from the following categories: furniture, laundry and home care products, diapers, pet hygiene products, and sports and outdoor equipment.
Moreover, users also took full advantage of the urgent free shipping offer of up to 70,000 VND from the “0 VND Shipping Fee” program. This is evident in the threefold increase in urgent orders compared to regular days, and tens of thousands of urgent orders with free shipping were delivered to users on 9.9.
Prominent shopping trends during the 9.9 Super Shopping Day
On 9.9, the number of active users on the platform increased by 42 times, while the number of users in rural and small towns increased by 36 times compared to the average of regular days. Throughout the event, Shopee accompanied sellers and brands in promoting products through Shopee Live and Shopee Video features, resulting in nearly 1.5 billion views and selling nearly 17 million products via livestream and video during 9.9.
The platform also recorded a sixfold increase in the number of Shopee Mall orders on 9.9 compared to regular days. The best-selling brands were Samsung, Unilever, Huggies, Bobby, and L’Oreal Paris. Additionally, the 9.9 event coincided with the new school year for students nationwide. Therefore, bags, backpacks, t-shirts, jackets, and sports shoes were among the top 10 most searched keywords on Shopee on 9.9. Furthermore, the top 5 best-selling book and stationery brands during this period were Thien Long, Deli, Fahasa, Moonbook, and Bitex.
ShopeePay continues to provide a seamless and convenient online payment solution. During this year’s 9.9 event, the number of orders paid via ShopeePay wallets increased fourfold compared to regular days. In addition to large cities, users in Nghe An, Bac Ninh, and Thanh Hoa made the most payments throughout the 9.9 event. Meanwhile, Da Nang, Binh Duong, and Dong Nai recorded the highest number of new users on 9.9.
ShopeeFood created a buzz through the “9.9 Mono khao Dai tiec thuong hieu” event, offering a series of attractive discounts and free shipping deals from thousands of big and small brands, along with exclusive promotions in collaboration with nearly 35 major brands. This strategy also contributed to the nearly doubled number of orders on 9.9. Furthermore, during the ShopeeFood Mart livestream on September 8, ShopeeFood recorded nearly 3,000 orders placed within 2 hours, indicating users’ growing preference for interactive online shopping to enjoy exclusive deals.
