The project broke ground in late 2021, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, under the witness of Vietnam and Singapore’s senior leaders, and with strong support from both governments.
Spanning 83 hectares with a total investment of 166 million USD, the project is recognized as the first “super port” within an intelligent logistics network in the ASEAN region, integrating a distribution center and an Inland Container Depot (ICD) for logistics services.
The event emphasized that SuperPort Vietnam will serve as a crucial link in the supply chain between China and Southeast Asia, with the ambitious goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2040, aiming to enhance Vietnam’s logistics capabilities while contributing to national climate change goals.
During the event, Dr. Yap Kwong Weng, CEO of SuperPort Vietnam, shared the new vision and development plans for the first SuperPort in Southeast Asia. He stated, “By applying advanced technology and breakthrough logistics solutions, we are improving the flow of goods across the region and setting a new standard for sustainable logistics ports in the future. SuperPort Vietnam is strategically positioned to boost Vietnam’s economic growth and strengthen regional connectivity through world-class infrastructure.”
SuperPort Vietnam is envisioned as a multimodal logistics hub, connecting the China-ASEAN cargo network with global markets via road, rail, air, and sea. As a vital node in the ASEAN intelligent logistics network, SuperPort Vietnam is designed to enhance regional integration and cross-border trade, promoting a seamless, faster, and smarter supply chain.

Project Perspective
Located in the northern economic corridor, SuperPort Vietnam connects 20 industrial parks with major seaports and airports, including Haiphong and Noi Bai, and extends to Yunnan and Kunming provinces in China. Building on YCH Group’s nearly 70 years of logistics expertise, SuperPort Vietnam also leverages its connectivity to global supply centers across Asia, including China, India, and Southeast Asia.
“In line with Vietnam’s commitment to the international community to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, SuperPort Vietnam has integrated advanced sustainable development solutions into its core operations. We are committed to reaching net-zero emissions by 2040, reinforcing Vietnam’s leadership in sustainable development,” said Dr. Yap.
SuperPort Vietnam has outlined a plan to achieve net-zero emissions, which includes assessing current emissions, upgrading infrastructure with AI and IoT technologies, adopting renewable energy systems, and transitioning to electric vehicles for cargo transportation by 2030. Any remaining emissions will be offset through the purchase of renewable energy and carbon credits.
