The Agriculture Industrialization Strategy

THACO AGRI, a member of the THACO Group established in 2019, adopts a large-scale, integrated, and circular approach to organic agricultural production. Within five years of operation, THACO AGRI has successfully established large-scale Agricultural Complexes, specializing in intensive monoculture of bananas and pineapples, along with integrated fruit farming of mangoes, pomelos, and durians, coupled with cattle farming. This includes breeding, calf rearing, and beef production through extensive and intensive fattening; pig farming for both breeding and meat, combined with timber tree farming; and the farming of other species such as goats, fish, and birds. THACO AGRI also produces agricultural machinery and equipment, processes fruits, manufactures banana fibers, and produces organic and mineral fertilizers. All these activities are spread across over 84,000 hectares of land in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.

Recognizing the meticulous planning and scientific approach required in agricultural investments, THACO AGRI emphasizes the importance of technological advancements. The company continuously invests in research, breed development, and the application of mechanization, biotechnology, and digitalization to enhance its production and business performance. THACO AGRI remains committed to investing in breed centers and the latest agricultural machinery and equipment, as well as developing industrial clusters within the Agricultural Complexes. The company has also commissioned factories to support industrial production in agriculture.

Investment and Business Expansion

In 2024, THACO AGRI plans to invest 5,400 billion VND in various projects, including new plantations and livestock farming, to foster sustainable agricultural development. As part of this initiative, THACO AGRI will cultivate an additional 5,200 hectares of bananas, bringing the total banana production area to 6,600 hectares, along with 60 hectares of new pineapple plantations. The Group aims to increase its cattle herd to 114,000 by the end of 2024, with an estimated sales volume of 9,200 cattle. The total area dedicated to fruit farming integrated with cattle farming will span 6,000 hectares, yielding an estimated export volume of 61,000 tons of fruit (including 60,000 tons of bananas and 1,000 tons of other fruits).

Moving forward, THACO AGRI will continue to supply the market with high-quality organic agricultural products, both fresh and processed, for export. This year, the company expects to achieve an agricultural export revenue of approximately 46 million USD, with a domestic revenue of 1,600 billion VND. Looking ahead to 2025, THACO AGRI forecasts an export revenue of 300 million USD and a domestic revenue of around 2,500 billion VND. By 2027, upon the completion of its investments, the company aims to reach a remarkable milestone of 1 billion USD in agricultural export revenue.

Focus on Human Resources Development in Agriculture

Alongside its production and business activities, THACO AGRI prioritizes the development of high-quality human resources. Currently, the company employs over 21,600 personnel across Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. THACO AGRI conducts internal training programs to enhance employees’ knowledge and skills in utilizing advanced technologies in production. Additionally, the company actively recruits foreign experts, technicians, and agricultural engineers. THACO AGRI also focuses on developing local talent, providing opportunities for skill enhancement and management capacity building, while ensuring competitive salaries that match individuals’ capabilities and contributions.

THACO AGRI is committed to social welfare and employee well-being. In the Integrated Complexes across Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, the company provides free housing for employees, offers employment contracts, and takes care of health insurance and social insurance. On-site medical facilities are available to provide healthcare services and medication for employees. THACO AGRI also operates convenience stores offering essential goods at non-profit prices, ensuring employees’ access to diverse and affordable products.

In the fourth quarter of 2024, THACO AGRI plans to recruit nearly 9,000 new employees, including over 800 technical specialists with university, college, and vocational degrees in various fields such as animal husbandry, crop production, mechanics, industrial production, and water and electricity. These recruits will be distributed across the Integrated Complexes and subsidiary corporations in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.

In 2025, THACO AGRI aims to recruit 21,000 more people, bringing the total headcount to over 52,000 by the end of the year.
