Hyundai Cuts Dealer Discounts

A dealership in the southern region is offering slight price cuts for Hyundai Custin buyers in October. As a result, the Standard version is priced at 797 million, the Special version is down to 889 million, and the Premium version is offered at 947 million VND. Meanwhile, the manufacturer’s suggested retail prices are 850 million, 945 million, and 999 million VND, respectively. Thus, the actual price has been reduced by 52-56 million VND compared to the listed price.

This is not the only discount Hyundai Custin buyers will receive. When registering the vehicle, customers can also benefit from the government’s policy of a 50% reduction in registration fees. This amounts to approximately 41-58.4 million VND depending on the version and registration location.

When it was first introduced in September 2023, the Hyundai Custin shocked the market with its competitive pricing, giving both the Kia Carnival and the Toyota Innova a run for their money. Positioned in the same segment as the Kia Carnival (starting at 1.299 billion VND), the Hyundai Custin is significantly more affordable with a starting price that is 85 million VND lower, and with the current discounts, it is now even more attractive at just over 820 million VND. This price range also overlaps with the Toyota Innova (755 million – 995 million VND) and the Innova Cross (810 – 990 million VND). With the dealership’s incentives, the effective price of the Hyundai Custin is now on par with the standard Innova.

Thanks to its accessible pricing, the Hyundai Custin has achieved relatively impressive sales figures in Vietnam. In September 2024, the model recorded sales of 302 units, contributing to a total of 1,948 units sold in the first three quarters of 2024. This performance surpasses that of similarly priced but smaller models such as the Toyota Innova, which sold only 38 units in September.

Fuel efficiency is another strong suit of the Hyundai Custin. In Vietnam, the model is offered with two engine configurations: a 2.0L Turbo GDi and a 1.5L Turbo GDi. Both engines are tuned to deliver improved performance while maintaining fuel efficiency. According to the manufacturer, the 1.5L Turbo GDi engine has a combined fuel consumption of approximately 6.91 liters/100km, while the 2.0L Turbo GDi engine consumes around 8.49 liters/100km.

The Hyundai Custin is equipped with Drive Mode, offering four driving modes: Eco, Comfort, Sport, and Smart. This system allows drivers to customize their driving experience according to their preferences and traffic conditions, while also enhancing fuel efficiency.
