iPad mini 7 Captivates Vietnamese Consumers
Instead of hosting a special event to attract media attention, Apple quietly launched the 7th-generation iPad Mini through a simple press release on their official website back in October.
This year, as the iPad Mini 7 hit the market, Vietnamese users showed significant interest as the new Apple product offered impressive updates compared to its predecessor, the 6th-generation iPad Mini, which was released in September 2021.
According to Di Dong Viet, a leading retail chain, the number of customers registering for updates on the iPad Mini 7 was three times higher than for the iPad Mini 6. On the official launch day, their stores witnessed an influx of early morning customers, mostly eager to experience and purchase the iPad Mini 7 along with accessories within the Apple ecosystem.
Towards the end of November, Apple’s new tablet was made available early at select dealers in Vietnam. Di Dong Viet representatives shared that the iPad Mini series has always had a dedicated user base, mostly comprising individuals who don’t require intensive tasks on their iPad and instead favor its compact size for entertainment, learning, and portability.
This time, Apple delivered significant upgrades with the iPad mini 7. Predictions indicate optimistic sales figures for the iPad Mini 7, especially for the 128GB model in blue and gray colors.
Compared to its predecessor, the new iPad is equipped with the A17 Pro chip, while the iPad mini 6 featured the A15 Bionic chip. This enhancement boosts the iPad mini 7’s performance, enabling smoother handling of demanding tasks such as gaming and video editing.
Additionally, the GPU in the iPad mini 7 has been upgraded, providing impressive graphics capabilities. The latest iPad mini from Apple also introduces support for Apple Intelligence, and in terms of camera technology, it incorporates Smart HDR 4, enhancing image quality, especially in challenging lighting conditions.
The suggested retail prices for the iPad Mini 7 with 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage options are 13.99 million VND (final price from 11.39 million VND), 16.49 million VND (final price from 13.89 million VND), and 21.99 million VND (final price from 19.29 million VND) respectively, applicable to all color versions.
iPad – Apple’s Golden Goose
The iPad is Apple’s line of premium tablets known for their powerful specifications. First introduced in 2010, the iPad continues to dominate the market and remains a favorite among users due to its constant innovations.
The success of the iPad can undoubtedly be attributed to the Apple brand, renowned for its eye-catching designs, trend-setting aesthetics, and robust hardware.
In 2022, Apple sold 14.8 million iPads from October to December, capturing a 39.2% market share. In 2023, iPad’s market share remained steady at 40.4% in terms of tablet revenue.
The market showed signs of improvement in 2024. Contrary to the notion that cheaper iPad models would be the top sellers, a recent report from CIRP revealed that the new iPad Pro was the most popular model among consumers in the second quarter of this year (April to June), accounting for a substantial 43% of total iPad sales.
Following closely in second place was the standard iPad with a 35% market share, then the iPad Air with 12%, and finally, the iPad mini with 10%. Compared to the second quarter of 2023, the iPad Pro’s market share increased by 5%, while the standard iPad maintained its position, and the iPad Air and iPad mini collectively contributed 9% to sales, a slight increase from the previous year’s 8%.
Apple reported iPad sales revenue of $6.95 billion for the fourth quarter of 2024, reflecting a 7.9% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
Analysts anticipate a rebound in iPad sales, specifically, and the tablet market, in general, this year, attributed to healthy inventory levels, expanded government and commercial deployments, and continuous product innovations and upgrades by manufacturers.
