The morning of November 27th saw a slight fluctuation in domestic gold prices, with rates either remaining unchanged or increasing by 100-500 thousand VND per tael compared to the previous day.
This marked the first time this week that gold prices rose at the opening of the trading session. In the preceding two days (November 25-26), gold prices had witnessed significant drops, losing millions of VND per tael.
Specifically, at 9:00 a.m., SJC gold prices were listed at 82.8-85.3 million VND per tael, unchanged from the previous day. Gold ring prices at major enterprises also mostly remained steady or saw minor increases of 100-500 thousand VND.
SJC’s smooth gold ring prices stood at 82.2-84.4 million VND per tael, a 100 thousand VND increase from the previous day.
The DOJI Group also raised their gold ring prices to 82.8-84.4 million VND per tael, reflecting a 500 thousand VND increase in the buying price and no change in the selling price compared to the previous session.
Bao Tin Minh Chau applied gold ring prices at the level of 82.38-84.48 million VND per tael, while PNJ listed prices at 82.7-84.4 million VND per tael.
In the international market, gold prices rebounded after dipping close to $2,600 per ounce the previous day. Spot gold prices currently stand at $2,634 per ounce, equivalent to about 81 million VND per tael based on the current VND/USD exchange rate.
Earlier, on Monday, global gold prices had witnessed a sharp decline from $2,717 per ounce to just above $2,600 per ounce. Mounting reports suggested that Israel and Hamas were close to reaching a ceasefire agreement, triggering substantial profit-taking and liquidation of long-weak positions in gold and silver futures markets. Additionally, market speculation suggested that President-elect Donald Trump might mediate a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, which would reduce geopolitical tensions and diminish gold’s appeal as a safe-haven asset.
The Soaring Price of Gold Rings
This morning (November 24th), gold ring prices surged once again, climbing by 400,000 to 800,000 VND per tael, reaching an impressive peak of 86 million VND per tael. The price of gold rings is now just 400,000 VND per tael shy of the gold bracelet price.
