Accompanying the Prime Minister were Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc, Minister of Transport Tran Hong Minh, Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee Nguyen Hoang Anh, and leaders of ministries, sectors, and local authorities.
This is the fifth time that the Prime Minister has inspected the construction site of the Long Thanh Airport project. Previously, the Prime Minister had inspected the site and directed the implementation of the project four times during the Lunar New Year holidays in 2022, 2023, and 2024, and in September 2024.
Most recently, during the site inspection and project deployment meeting on September 24, 2024, the Prime Minister set out basic goals, requirements, and tasks, with the target of substantially completing the project by December 31, 2025, to commemorate the 14th National Congress of the Party, the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South.
The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Planning and Investment to work with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development regarding capital allocation for the Headquarters of the Animal/Plant Quarantine Station under Component 4 of the project.
The People’s Committee of Dong Nai province was instructed to develop Long Thanh city into a smart and modern city with international connections and to direct the provision of sufficient construction materials and land filling for the project.
Regarding the expansion of the Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh Expressway and other connecting roads to Long Thanh Airport, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Transport to review, and the State Capital Management Committee to complete the necessary procedures for the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) to implement the project.
The Prime Minister also assigned the Ministry of Transport to review and study a transportation plan, including metro, subway, or high-speed railway systems, to connect Long Thanh, Bien Hoa, and Tan Son Nhat airports.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister directed the launch of a 450-day high-peak campaign at the construction site, aiming to complete the project by December 31, 2025.

No Delays for the Expressways in the Mekong Delta Due to Sand and Stone Shortages
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has instructed the Ministry of Transport, relevant agencies, and contractors to proactively coordinate with local authorities to expedite the supply of fill materials. He emphasized that there should be no delays in the construction of expressways in the Mekong Delta region due to a shortage of sand and rocks.
