According to a notice issued by the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC), a temporary traffic diversion will be implemented on the Cau Gie – Ninh Binh Expressway from December 6th. Vehicles traveling on the expressway in the Liêm Tuyền – Cao Bồ direction will need to turn right onto a branch road (belonging to the Liêm Sơn Interchange Construction Project) at Km239+800 and then rejoin the main expressway at Km242+220 towards the Cao Bồ Interchange.

For vehicles traveling in the opposite direction, from Cao Bồ to Liêm Tuyền, a right turn onto the branch road (also part of the Liêm Sơn Interchange Construction Project) will be required at Km242+900. They will then rejoin the Cau Gie – Ninh Binh Expressway at Km240+500 towards the Liêm Tuyền Interchange.

VEC emphasizes that the maximum permitted speed for vehicles on the branch road (in the construction project area from Km239+800 to Km242+900) must not exceed 60km/h. Additionally, drivers are advised to gradually reduce speed before entering the branch road and gradually increase speed when rejoining the expressway.

Motorists are advised to pay attention to road signage and follow the instructions of the expressway operation and maintenance unit when traveling through this section. In case of any incidents or abnormalities, please contact the 24/7 hotline at 1900 1838.

The Cau Gie – Ninh Binh Expressway, which opened in July 2021, is 50 km long and cost over VND 8,900 billion to construct. It features four lanes and two emergency stop lanes, with a maximum operating speed of 120 km/h.

In 2023, the expressway served over 21 million vehicles, a 7% increase from 2022, making it the busiest expressway among the four managed by VEC. Given the significant increase in traffic, especially after the opening of the Cao Bồ – Diễn Châu sections of the North-South Expressway, VEC is studying and reporting to competent authorities a proposal to expand the Cau Gie – Ninh Binh Expressway from four lanes to six or eight lanes.
