A taxi company in the Son La area has recently revealed plans to introduce the VinFast VF 3 electric mini car to its fleet, attracting attention with its competitive pricing structure.
The base fare for the VinFast VF 3 taxi is set at 5,000 VND, with a waiting charge of 30,000 VND per hour. For distances between 0.3 km and 60 km, the rate is 7,500 VND per km. The rate drops to 7,000 VND per km for distances over 60 km. For round trips over 30 km, the return journey is discounted by 70%.
According to the company, the published rates include VAT, and customers will only incur additional charges for tolls and parking, if applicable.
In conjunction with this announcement, the taxi company is also recruiting drivers. Requirements include a B2 driver’s license or higher, age between 20 and 55 years old, good health, and a strong sense of responsibility and discipline. Experienced taxi drivers or those with a long-term driving record will be given preference. The company offers stable income, with bonuses at the end of the first six months and year-end bonuses for outstanding performers.
This is the second taxi company to adopt the VinFast VF 3 for their services. Two other businesses, Let’s Go Taxi and TOGO, have also announced their purchase of the VinFast VF 3 but have not yet officially launched their operations.
Previously, in October 2024, Taxi 123 in the Bac Ninh area became the first to introduce the VinFast VF 3, offering a base fare of 9,000 VND per km and a waiting charge of 30,000 VND per hour. For round trips over 30 km, they also provide a 70% discount on the return journey. If customers opt for a two-way trip between 40 km and 60 km, the rate drops significantly to 5,800 VND per km, making it half the price of a regular taxi.
Currently, the VinFast VF 3 is one of the most affordable electric cars in Vietnam, with prices starting at 240 million VND for the leased-battery option and 322 million VND for the battery-included option, both offering four basic exterior color choices.
The VF 3 is equipped with a range of features and entertainment systems to cater to the daily needs of urban commuters. It includes a 10-inch infotainment screen compatible with Android Auto and Apple Carplay. The rear seats can be folded down completely to increase cargo space, offering a total capacity of 550L.
Despite its affordable price tag, the VF 3 boasts an impressive range of up to 210 km on a single charge, and its fast-charging capability allows it to reach 70% charge in just 30 minutes. With a published energy consumption rate of 83.3W/1 km, it costs less than 40,000 VND to travel 100 km, making it an economical choice for daily commutes.
