On the evening of December 20, the Vietnam Yen Town Police (Bac Giang) raided a warehouse in Tan Yen District and seized more than 10 tons of fireworks. This was a result of expanding the investigation into the seizure of fireworks from cardboard boxes transferred from a truck to a field next to a road in Vietnam Yen Town.

Earlier, on December 18, the Vietnam Yen Town Police caught Vu Quang Toan (DOB: 1982) and Do Van Hung (DOB: 1986), both residing in Minh Duc Commune, Vietnam Yen Town, red-handed while they were transporting red cardboard boxes with pictures of apples and foreign words (suspected to contain firecrackers) from a truck with license plate number 29H-743.27 to a concrete road in Binh Minh Village, Minh Duc Commune, Vietnam Yen Town, Bac Giang Province.

During the interrogation, Toan and Hung confessed to transporting 48 red boxes containing firecrackers manufactured in China, with each box holding 12 firecracker bases, each with 36 firecrackers. While they were hiding the firecrackers to sell them for profit, they were caught by the police. Upon inspection, the Vietnam Yen Town Police discovered and confiscated 12 red boxes from the field and 36 red boxes from the truck.

The initial inspection determined that the total weight of the seized items was 912.9 kg. During the investigation, the suspects admitted to purchasing the firecrackers from a location in Tan Yen District, Bac Giang Province.

As the investigation expanded, on the evening of December 20, the Vietnam Yen Town Police discovered a warehouse in Hang Com Village, Viet Lap Commune, Tan Yen District, which contained tools, equipment, and evidence related to the criminal act. The Criminal Investigation Agency of Vietnam Yen Town Police conducted an emergency search and found inside the warehouse 567 boxes of firecrackers with a total weight of approximately 10 tons.

The Criminal Investigation Agency of Vietnam Yen Town Police is continuing to investigate and expand the case.
