On July 29, the People’s Committee of Tay Ho Ward, in collaboration with the Hanoi Institute of Planning and Architecture, organized a conference to announce the detailed planning project for the central axis area of Quang An Peninsula at a scale of 1/500.

According to the planning project, the Quang An Peninsula will undergo architectural landscape and urban architecture reorganization across a total area of 44.1 hectares. The project also involves planning technical infrastructure networks, including transportation, technical preparation, water supply, electricity, telecommunications, drainage, environmental sanitation, and underground construction space.

The architectural landscape will center around the central axis of Quang An Peninsula, integrating a themed park dedicated to culture, arts, entertainment, and multifunctional culture. The design features a pedestrian street stretching from the northeast to the southwest, starting from the park’s entrance and leading to an open square near Dam Tri Lake. The journey concludes with a grand theater, a modern landmark representative of the capital city.

Masterplan of Quang An Peninsula

Prior to this, on April 28, Hanoi city approved Sun City JSC as the investor for the construction of the Pearl Theater and the specialized cultural and artistic park in Quang An Ward (now Tay Ho Ward), with a total investment of nearly VND 12,800 billion.

The project covers an area of over 19.1 hectares, of which the Pearl Theater and the cultural park account for approximately 18.2 hectares, while the remaining area is allocated for parking and internal traffic. The project site borders Dang Thai Mai Street, West Lake, and neighboring residential areas.

The project aims to construct a large-scale opera house along with a modern cultural, artistic, and entertainment complex. According to the plan, preparations will take place from the first quarter to the third quarter of 2025. The construction phase will extend from the fourth quarter of 2025 to the first quarter of 2029, with the goal of completing the entire project by the end of the third quarter of 2029.

Bui Tuan Duong, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Tay Ho Ward, stated that based on the assigned tasks, the ward will instruct units to carry out the next steps, including establishing and approving the task, the dossier for boundary marker planting, and organizing the implementation of boundary marker planting in accordance with current regulations.

The announcement of the detailed planning project for the central area of Quang An Peninsula has paved a clear development direction while demonstrating the local government’s willingness to listen, be receptive, and commit to accompanying the community. With the consensus of the people, the involvement of the community, and the close direction of the authorities, the Quang An Peninsula promises to become a new cultural, scenic, and tourist attraction in the capital city of Hanoi.
